Worst resort ever!
They charge 200 pesos for the cave and pool. The cave smells like pee, nothing really special. The pool was okay, you cant really swim because there are people having swimming lessons. The beach front was the worst, trash everywhere. We end up paying just to clean their beach front. Dont come here.

Striped back but beautiful resort
My partner and I spent 5 nights here over our school October break. We had heard that Bantayan Island was remote, quiet and basic, which it is, but it is very beautiful and untouched in a lot of places. It takes around 4-5 hours to reach from Cebu City airport. I would recommend just paying extra in a cab or van rather than waiting for the bus to the ferry port and be warned the last ferry over is at 5:30pm! You will be waiting until 3am if you miss it! (Or if it’s cancelled like it was for us!) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ogtong Cave. The room was basic but it was well kept along with all the grounds. There are stunning views at the back of the hotel of the crystal clear waters, which when drawn back with the tide, reveal some fascinating rock pools! Loads of fish, crabs and star fish! There is also a sandy part to enjoy just a short walk from the back of the hotel. Of course there is the naturally occurring cave on resort too which is lovely and well maintained. There are even tiny bats that live at the back of the cave! There isn’t a wide variety of breakfast items, however the kitchen staff were more than willing to cater to our needs. We are both vegetarian and we were given alternatives all the time. The one thing that truly makes this place special is the staff. They were all very welcoming, friendly and as I said very accommodating to our needs. It was my boyfriends birthday when we arrived so they helped to arrange a birthday message in our room along with putting some beers in our fridge. The staff in the restaurant were wonderful and went above and beyond to make our breakfast enjoyable each morning. They were able to real off our order by heart by the end of the 4 days! Thank you so much to everyone at Ogtong Cave for making our trip so memorable!

Nothing spectacular about the cave. It is atleast something different amidst the beaches that we frequented. The resort itself is pretty in its own way. It feels a bit private and secluded but nevertheless relaxing.

A beautiful peaceful resort on the beach
Ogtong Cave Resort, Santa Fe, was a beautiful resort right on the beach with access to the small cave for swimming. There are two swimming pools, one of which is open to those members of the public paying the resort fee. The pool exclusive for residences was the superior of the two pools. Our accommodation was in a villa with a sea view. A lovely room with cable TV, AC, tea and coffee making facilities, fridge with small freezer compartment and a shower bathroom. The resort does offer a free transfer to and from the ferry drop off point. Unfortunately our pick up was delayed so the hotel sent a tricycle to pick us up which did delay our arrival. The drop off back to the ferry was quick and efficient. Your room is serviced daily when requested through reception. There is a bar and restaurant. We dined once and the menu offered both local and international dishes to suit all tastes. Although reasonably priced for foreigners, there are many food stalls and restaurants nearby offering good food at good prices... so you may want to dine out or pick up some take out to eat in your room. The setting on the beach is beautiful and a stroll along the beach in the evening when the tide was out was superb. Although there may be cheaper options available, I’m not sure they would offer the setting on the beach and the access to the cave as this resort does.

Quiet, beautiful resort
I want to start off by saying not everyone likes the same thing in a resort. Somethings I will mention as negatives will be positives to other visitors. So please read all the way to end to see if Ogtong is the right fit for you. First the things I loved. Each rental is a free standing building which is beautifully decorated. Our unit had it's own Jacuzzi and had a smaller swimming pool directly outside (the main pool wish is larger is a 5 minute walk away). The grounds are maintained very nicely. The white sand beach is beautiful and it is fun to explore when the tide goes out. We had a blast swimming in the cave but keep in mind if you are not a guest at the hotel you can still swim in the cave for small fee. Also, we really appreciated the shuttle service that picked us up at the ferry. Things we didn't like but might be positives to other people. The grounds are beautiful but manicured to the point that it feels like a golf course. The staff are extremely professional, but so much so that it starts to feel a bit impersonal. The location is remote and I was there off season, so it is quiet. I mean really quiet and kind of dead. Only saw two other groups of guests while there. As a comparison, we also stayed nearby at a much cheaper resort for part of the week. There was ambient noise (people laughing and singing, babies crying, music playing, life happening). It felt like we were back in the Philippines. Here was the energy (and noise) that for us was missing from Ogtong. But of course some prefer the country club like silence. Things I don't think anyone would like. The menu looks fantastic (and the food was good but not any better than cheaper places we stayed) and has a lot of variety but most days they gave us the menu and then said most items were not available. No chicken. Reduced fish options. Main protein option was pork. At lunch the options were tuna fish sandwich or cheese sandwich. That's it. This was I believe during the off season. I get that if there are only a handful of people in the entire resort that it would be wasteful to buy more food that you have guests. So maybe come up with a reduced menu that you print out during these times. It's frustrating seeing all these yummy dishes only be told as you try to order that each dish isn't available. At the much cheaper hotel we stayed at the menu was smaller but included the normal variety of proteins. Also, while we were not there to watch TV I did turn it on one day and all but two channels were locked and it seemed we needed to pay to access the other regular channels. There was nothing in the room to explain the TV or paying for channels. I didn't really care so I never asked about it but it would seem for the amount we paid for the room, they shouldn't be charging for channels that are always free at significantly cheaper resorts. Another frustration was that the resort has wi-fi but they don't use repeaters to spread the signal to all of the buildings and grounds. if you are from elsewhere and don't have cell service you will have to go sit next to the check-in desk to connect to the internet. The signal didn't even make it to the eating area. So to summarize. Ogtong is beautiful. We loved our private building. We found the over all feel to be a bit too country clubish but if that is your thing then you will love it.
