It was a good place to relax, to take pictures, and to explore the whole Taal vicinity. We also got to experience to live in a traditional old house.

REFRESHING TO THE SENSES
We heard of this place not through social media but though word of mouth. Paradores del Castillo's owner is also the same with Don Juan's in Taal (one of the best-tasting boodle fight theme I had been to). What makes me excited about this place is that another ancestral home in Taal is up for preservation just like another bahay na bato (Casa Recuerdo )across Paradores del Castillo which is to be utilized as a museum also by the same owner. Upfront, the facade speaks for itself- the grandeur of the bahay na bato with its pristine white wall paintings. The place is airy despite the hot and humid climate in Taal. I didn't expect that the grounds are so tidy and spacious which is accessible though the house itself. Their dining area is at the back part of the old house under the canopy made by the leaves of a grand tree I forgot to ask. Breakfast buffet at PHP250.00 is not bad at all besides, you'll be mesmerized by the breath-taking view overlooking a part of the beaches in Lemery and the rooftops of houses around this hotel. Service? I'll give it a 5/5-genuinely warm and hospitable staff are considered an asset. They have a parking area for guests beside the property. Bonus- the end of the street is inaccessible to vehicles but beyond the almost 150 steps is the old Caysasay church where the original Our Lady of Caysasay image is enshrined and just along the main road before uphill is the oldest church in Asia, the Taal Basilica

Authentic Escape to 1900s
The family arrived around 4:30 in the afternoon after a 3+ hours long travel from Manila. The welcome was warm, early dinner was delicious and Casa Herencia was as authentic as an old Spanish house could get. There were modern amenities of course-- airconditioning, refrigerator, warm water. But letting the kids live in an old house was the real experience of a lifetime.

Happiness is in this place
I do not travel very often, I usually just stay home and read a book. However, this stay was a gift from my boyfriend and it was GREAT!!! The people - super nice and friendly. The place - clean, comfy and beautiful. I read some of the comments about this place, why are they so obsess about white towels, everything is clean, that is the most important to thing when you are staying in a place. Th food - is awesome! I loved it. We had a buffet breakfast. People serving in this place are so accommodating. You can't even pour your own coffee. LOL! Overall, if you want to relax, this is the place for you. If you love history, everything is walking distance. It really is great that everything is so accessible. I love it. Definitely coming back to this place and try other rooms.. I love it.. Love.. love.. Love it

Nice Hotel
It was the time when Batangas was hit by an earthquake the 2nd time summer of 2017, reason why our trip wasn't too well, but it was memorable. I was amazed on how that area of Taal has maintained the nostalgic atmosphere. When we arrived, guests were outside the hotel because of the earthquake. Our family was assigned at the first floor of Casa Herencia, a 2-floor old house (rebuilt) located quite far from the original hotel. It is at the back of Basilica of St. Martin of Tours, but they provide shuttle service but can also be reached by walking. In the afternoon, we thought of getting our dinner but all establishments were closed early because of the situation so we ended up walking until the main hotel and ordered from the restaurant. Our room was big, as it has 6 single beds and we had a dining area, complete with utensils. It felt like renting an entire house, just without a kitchen. As expected, we weren't able to sleep too well because of the aftershocks but their beds are comfortable. The breakfast buffet has limited options, but enough. The staff are all genuinely nice. We actually plan of going back in Taal and will still stay at Paradores.

Wonderful service
Worth visiting! 1. Place is equal parts modern and traditional. 2. Rooms are clean and smells clean 3. There's a garden with a view 4. Service was great! All the staff were very attentive to our needs, very approachable and courteous. 5. Everything in the breakfast buffet was delicious. 6. Parking is a bit challenging, but expected because of the small roads. Hotel staff are always ready to assist anyway so no worries
