Nice but not worth coming back
Had a daytour on a Wednesday so no need for reservations. Entrance fee of Php350 is kinda pricey but the place is very refreshing and accessible by public vehicle. Not worth staying overnight since place doesn't have much to offer except infinity pool and overlooking view of Laguna lake.

The place was promising, nice view of Laguna Lake with lovers of nature would really like the place. We came here for a team building activity so I think we achieved our goal for a nice place that we chose. The service though needs more to be desired. The restrooms are not well maintained. The amenities were old and there were very few people than serves the needs of the customers.

Punta de Fabian in Baras
I have been to this place almost 9 years ago and I must say that the place has been maintained well. Except for some ants crawling in the rooms and the function halls due to topsy turvy cleaning perhaps. Going there will only take you an hour (w/o traffic). They should look for a CHEF or a GOOD COOK who will prepare good food. None of those served to us where satisfactory. And to think that there is no nearby restaurant you can go to so we really had to just be contented with what they offer us. The helpers and servers were respectful though. Overall, our stay was good. Since our stay there was official business, I was looking for the lady who we have been transacting with --- and she did not even visit us. The former manager (son of the owner) was more accommodating and serious in managing the place.

Pictures of the room deceiving.
Most of my relatives from the father side were residents of Baras. Everytime I have the chance to visit them or my family would go on a roadtrip in Tanay, I will always see the board of Punta de Fabian. Out of curiosity, I check the place in the internet and I must admit I was impressed with the pictures. So, when I finally got the chance to see the place personally, with some friends in tow, I told them to try it. Since, the entire group agreed we get an economy room. I was with my bestfriend and we get a room with separate beds since both of us are not comfortable sharing. While the others, opted to get a queen sized bed. The view from the hotel and from their infinity pool were amazing! I guess, that was the saving grace of the place but not with the rooms that needs total renovation. I will also agree with the others who commented that the service was slow and staff doesn't seem to know what good customer service is all about. If you are not really finicky with the rooms and you are only after the place that offers a WOW view, then i would recommend it.

Extremely unpleasant experience
Sales person that we spoke to over the phone assigned an economy room as all others were fully booked. Upon seeing the room, we asked for an upgrade were informed that all rooms have already been reserved. PROS: 1. Great view. CONS: 1. Staff not coordinated. Entrance security and reception were not aware that we have a reservation. 2. Staff at front desk not attentive. We need to get his attention to assist us. 3. Room not yet ready upon check in. We have to ask for towels, which turned out worn out and with stains. 4. Room not clean. Bed cover and pillows are worn out and should be totally replaced with better ones. Full of mosquitoes. Unfortunately, they still needed to buy a new can of insect spray. Shabby and dirty curtains. 5. Comfort rooms dirty with unpleasant smell. Smelled of dog. Exhaust fan not working, hence, this enable insects to fly/crawl inside the room. 6. Switch for main light is right outside the room. Anybody can turn on and off the switch as they please, which unfortunately happened to us at 4am. 7. Water of 2 pools were not clear. It seems that filtration of the pools are not working. For the main pool, the cascade is very dirty and with stagnant water. 8. Limited food choices. When asked for a menu, the receptionist simply wrote down what they have on their fridge at that time, so we ended up eating outside. 9. Before having dinner, we sprayed the room with insect repellant. Upon returning, the comfort room and bed were full of dead mosquitoes and other insects. We thought that we would have a good night sleep but we discovered in the wee hours of the morning that there was rat inside the room. It turned out that the scratching noise was from the rat. To our horror, it already munched on a paper bag containing canned fruit juice. At 5am we decided to pack our things and no longer avail of the complimentary breakfast. Before 7am, we were already waiting at the reception to check out. Lo and behold, the waiters informed us we should wait until front desk comes in. We persistently asked one of the wait staff to contact reception as we really wanted to leave the place. We then finally asked for the number of the receptionist to directly speak with her to check out. If management is reading this, they should consider renovating/upgrading the economy rooms first before offering this further to potential/returning clients. They should not sacrifice comfort of customers over income.
