The best got even better
As of my previous review, I rated Ranchelle as the best within Masbate City. I went back in April this year and stayed at Ranchelle. The staff informed me that the new wing has opened and that they now have a VIP room. I took the room and paid P7,000 a night. Obviously, no hotel in Masbate has a room this expensive. I was told I was going to be the very first guest to stay in this room. The room is, of course, bigger than their other rooms although it is not a suite with separate bedroom and living area. Just one big room with nice appointments. The bed had an orthopedic mattress, there were lampshdes on the night tables (I was tempted to take off the plastic covers on the shades), and nice small sofa. The toilet is nice, although the toilet door gets in the way of the toilet bowl so one has to close the door to seat on the throne. The wardrobe has bathrobes and bedroom slippers - - - I have never seen these in any Masbate hotel. There was an electric kettle for coffee and tea, with cups on the side, but they must have forgotten to put in the coffee or tea. There was a safe, but it was in the process of being screwed to the surface to be usable. I talked with the friendly owner who owned up to the missing details and he said all of those were to be in place, including a wifi router and an intercom for easy communication with the staff or the restaurant. The best thing about the room is that it is the only room in the hotel with a private veranda looking out into the sea and the marine sanctuary called Buntod.

1 of the best hotels in Masbate
Me and my partner is staying here for almost a week. Staffs are Friendly and Helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean. The comfort room has water heater and clean as well. All their rooms are equipped with router with high speed internet (yes, each rooms has router). They have cable TV as well. Free Breakfast too. The resort has good ambiance and relaxing view of the ocean and is well-maintained. Food is great trust me. Even though is quite expensive but still its for 3-4 persons serving. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on our next visit. Its a nice place to be on your vacation and is definitely relaxing.

Comfortable and all around enjoyable
I think this place is well on it's way to becoming a great resort. The hotel has a wonderful location. The views are incredible. The swimming area was nice, but not something I would do regularly there. The staff is very friendly, and as a foreigner, I had a hard time determining who was a guest at the hotel and who was a staff member. The food was great, and represented the Filipino culture quite well. We did have a few issues with the rooms. Water pressure was terrible, at times. We also had some noisy folks near our room. Not a whole lot you can do about that, but it's still worth considering. We might have chosen our room more wisely next time. All in all, a good, safe resort. Great location, close to the airport. I would stay here again, but choose a room closer to the road.

Terrible Experience!
Stayed here as they say it's one of the best resorts in town. Well, based on my personal experience, it's NOT! Good points first. Currently there's only1 flight from Manila to Masbate via PAL, and timing is very early.. no choice... We landed at Masbate Airport around 630am, went straight to the resort and even if it's too early, they allowed us to check-in already... such a relief for us since we can still take a nap before starting a long day's work. The suite room is very spacious and has a decent ambiance. Air-conditioning unit was functioning very well and kept my room very cold despite the scorching heat outside. And YES to exclusive WiFi inside your room -- very, very convenient! Ocean view from the veranda is fantastic – very calming and relaxing, especially at dusk. Convenient store and Novelty shop are available if in case you need anything like snacks, drinks or even pasalubong. Lastly, Manong Guard on duty was very helpful and was always ready to provide assistance to guests. Bad points – Staff and crew need a little more training on customer service. Not really friendly and accommodating to requests. They won’t automatically make-up your room, unless you leave your room keys with them when you go out of the resort. And the most memorable experience I had with this resort. Our flight on Friday was 630am, so, when we arrived at the resort on Thursday late evening, around 1030pm, we asked the resort staff if we could settle our room charges already so it’ll be less hassle for us in the morning. They said yes and we agreed that they’ll just check in the morning if we have consumed anything from the mini bar. There were 3 of us settling our bills. I paid first – my room charges is Php 5,400, I handed Php 5,500 and the staff gave me Php 100 bill as change. My companion paid their bills as well and after all we all retired in our respective rooms. After about 20 minutes, the staff called me at my room and said that she wrongfully handed Php 1,000 bill to me instead of just Php 100 for my change. I said wait and I’ll check my wallet. I said to her that I’m sure that she gave me just Php 100. She insisted that she gave me Php 1,000 bill because they saw it in the CCTV. I volunteered to go down at their office and said to her that if she can prove to me that she gave me Php 1,000, I’ll return it to her. Accompanied by my 2 companions, we went down to the office and the staff showed to us the video clip from their CCTV. The staff said that the clip was blurry since we can’t really see for ourselves that she indeed handed me a Php 1,000 bill, but, she insisted. When we started explaining our side, she just said “Ok, ok na… wag niyo na ibalik, ako na lang mag aabono.” This angered me as I felt I was being blamed for her fault, and it seemed from her statement that I am holding back the Php 1,000. I said to her that I will not ruin my name just because of the Php 1,000. If ever I received Php 1,000 from her, I should have noticed it and immediately returned the same to her. I added that I won’t challenge her to show me the video if I knew that I have the Php 1,000. Before I left the office, I gave her Php 1,000 from my wallet – I did this for my own peace of mind and to prove to her that money is not an issue to me. I just hope that they WON’T DO THIS EVER, EVER to any of their guests again… VERY WRONG…. SO WRONG….. I could have rated this resort higher, 5 even. But the incident was beyond negligible. Very disappointing and definitely unacceptable.
