1) Staff is friendly. That's good. 2) Booked a deluxe room upstairs. However, outside lightning is not working. It's pitch black to walk upstairs, luckily my phone can be used as torchlight. 3) Floor in room is dusty and sandy, it would be nice if bedroom slippers are provided for guests. 4) No comment on meal since no dining here. 5) Bathroom is clogged for my room. It would be nice if maintenance is done. It's a pool inside after every shower. 6) Beautiful bed, but mattress is too thin. 7) No shower gel & shampoo. Only soap

Fantastic Stay!
What a great place! We were greeted with warmth upon our arrival. The Food was fantastic and the rooms were really nice and airy with great air-con!! The Owners who are British were really nice and welcoming and had time to chat with us, which was really nice! We stayed a few days and will definitely go back soon! Thank you!

Prime location stay good price and bearable quality
Upon walking into the reef retreat gates expect a warm greeting from friendly staff in an open garden which connects all the small rooms. The garden feels very peaceful and tranquil to sit in or on your patio in provided comfortable seating. The staff are friendly and willing. The room was clean other than on the floors which understandable being directly across from the beach but the floors could use a clean or at least a quick mop. The towels were laid out beautifully on the bed in the shape of swans. The beds are huge four post beds. The bathroom/shower was very clean and presentable and modern. The room lacked particular things most other places would provide such as hair dryer, iron and small courtesy shampoo and body washes. The TV is of poor quality fuzzy/grainy with poor sound quality. On one of the channels it tells you the movie name in top right corner when a movie or show is on but it was impossible to tell what the writing said it was such a bad TV. The staff was informed but didn't seem to care much. The TV did break during the stay and was immediately replaced with the exact same TV or the same quality with seems to be some third party panisonic rip off. "Pensonic" a big back 90s TV. The hotel has power cuts one was scheduled to happen to the entire island which was fine but we lost two days worth of power at the hotel and a night so no hot water in the electric shower and no lights. We booked the room expecting there to be a full kitchen as in the photos so we can save money cooking sometimes for ourselves but don't be fooled they don't have that in all rooms. The location of the stay was crucial, directly across from the beach where water sport activities happen. If you wish to travel to the front beach for a swim or other things such as parasail and helmet diving it's just 70-75 peso in a tricycle or 5-10 minutes walking. Tricycles stop directly outside the Reef retreat where there are also many restaurants, bars and a place to play pool or if you are American (billards). Highly recommend the bar bethchi where the owner is very friendly and live music is every night. I wouldn't use reef retreat during Philippines during rain season again as every road connecting to the popular places gets easily flooded cutting off easy access to the attractions unless you don't mind walking through water and some of it being sewage though there is an alternative route across the beach but that gets flooded too. All in all.. Positives: Excellent location Water sport activities are right on your beach front Friendly staff Beach easy access Resturaunts close by Bars close by D'mall close by walking or tricycle Tricycle stops outside Wonderful sights Negatives: Dirty floors lead to dirty beds even after feet washed in shower it's a nasty feeling It's always the same staff 2 I understand Filipinos are very hard working but everyone should get at least one day off. Broken and bad TV in room Outdated lack of room facilities No complimentarily shower gels At times it felt the staff lacked enthusiasm when talking to customers. Sometimes the towels smell cheesy when put clean on the bed. Fire ants and creepy crawlers are an issue at the hotel they get in your room and at the gate and some of them bite. We will visit again but not at reef retreat. We didn't get what we expected from the photos. Sorry.

Perfect hotel for windsurfers
Nice quiet place. Room with kitchen, good enough for this price. Only 50 meters to the beach. I could go to windsurf immediately after wind comes, because my equipment was kept rigged and ready. There is place for storage of equipment. The staff very helpful. They met us in airport and led to the hotel, same assistance when leaving, just enjoy 😊 There is security watch in the yard every night. Perfect hotel, if you don’t want to pay too much for luxury.

Would love to go back!
Myself and my boyfriend stayed at Reef Retreat for 5 nights at the end of our trip to the Phillipines. After 10 days of a lot of travelling it was the perfect place to end our trip. I particularly liked the uniqueness of the resort, it's not you're typical westernised hotel but great none the less. The rooms are clean, have air con and wifi and the staff were lovely, couldn't complain about a thing and if we ever return to Boracay we will definitely be staying here again! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Amazing hotel for Kitesurfers
I was there already 2 times with a group of kitesurfers, the hotel is clean, has wifi, and situated right near my favourite kite station Timog. The staff is very helpful, you have everyday cleaning. It s quiet and not hot in comperison to White Beach hotels because of the wind. Highly recommend it for kitesurfers!!
