It was a great stay and would highly consider booking with them again if given the chance. They gave us a room with nice views of the terraces. The staff were very friendly, and offered to help us in any way they can. Downside was that their WiFi wasn't working even in the public areas.

Really recommended!
Very very nice staff, beautiful hostel with an amazing decoration, and a superb calamansi juice :) The rooms were very clean. the staff helped us with everything we needed. The only problem is that the wi-fi doesn`t always work, specially in the rooms.

Simply amazing!
Me and my friends had booked Rice Homestay just by simply reading reviews on trip advisor. We had absolutely no idea that this place would be our favourite destination in the whole of the Philippines. To be honest, I was the most sceptical one out of my friends to stay at Rice Homestay as I thought it was a hostel and having only stayed at 4/5 star hotels in the past, I was not looking forward to a grubby hostel. That was far from the truth. We arrived at Rice Homestay at 4am after a 9 hour drive from Manila. We were picked up by Mikael and Jomarie who we booked directly from the hotel. (I call it a hotel as I did not feel this was a hostel.) Both Mikael and Jomarie were amazing and words cannot describe them. Anyway, we were directed to our room which was a really cosy and a comfortable spacious room. The room was right outside a river and could hear the water which sounded just serene. The room was clean, comfortable and just what we wanted as we were not planning to stay in the hotel a lot. The only issue was that the hot water was not 'hot' enough and at times we did not get hot water. The staff were all amazing and it actually felt like we were living at a relatives home. There were a lot of tourists in the hotel and you could see why it was so popular. The next day, we were taken around Banaue by Mikael and Jomarie and they showed us the local sites! The museum is especially one to see as the views are stunning. That evening we had a lovely meal prepared by Mikael and Jomarie and they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The following day, they took us to the rice terraces. They arranged for us to be taken there on a jeepney!! A really good experience sitting on top of it. The rice terraces were simply breathtaking! Jomarie actually saved one of my friends from having a really nasty accident at the terraces too! On our third day and final day, they took us to Sagada where we went to the caves and that was one scary experience but one I'll never forget!! Jomarie saved my life twice there as I almost fell a few times and I could've actually died had it not been for him!! They then drove us back to Manila through some very rocky and dangerous roads and made sure we got back to Manila before our next flight to Cebu. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel as all of it was just fantastic! The only negative was that the breakfast took a while to arrive but that would be the only negative point. Oh and the hot water. The rest was just amazing. I could go on and on about it but don't want to bore anyone! See it for yourself. Banaue is a must see especially if organised by Rice Homestay! Loved it!

Great base for hikes in the rice terraces
You get what you pay for. Our room was very clean and quite big with a nice view on the local river crossing banaue. The bed was quite comfy and the bathroom was absolutely adequate. The people running the honestly are very friendly. We arrived super early with the night bus and were able to go to our rooms shortly after we arrived and hours before the official check in time. Location is good too. You can easily walk from the hostel to the different viewpoints to enjoy the banaue rice terrasses. We also did the batad hiking tour with them, which was quite nice. Our guide really took good care of us and never left us behind (as it happens with other guides frequently). Food was ok, nothing special. If you like phillipino breakfast (porksilog) you will be alright. Dinner was slightly below average but it was cheap so we were satisfied with the offering and a cool beer after a long hike. In conclusion: Great base to explore the various rice terrasses

Great place to Stay!!Great view! Great People!!
I would like to thank Janice and Sela for the gracious welcome, and very educational stay. They have been very generous in sharing their local knowledge (especially Sela). The staff is very warm, friendly and accommodating. Thanks to Sela for the very delicious food. Ive been to other inns, but the food here is the best. For those who plan on travelling, some tips and advice: 1) Please do not expect fast wifi it is a quaint village protected by mountain ranges. 2) Have an open mind and respect the people, their culture and properties. Do not litter. 3) Please do not be a cheapskate and haggle even more. Help the community by paying them what is due. 4) you can get a guide or arrange your tour with them 5) they have free shuttle from bus terminal to the site.
