This means that guests will need to make alternative arrangements for their pets if they plan to stay at this particular establishment. This policy is common in many hotels and resorts, often implemented to maintain the comfort and safety of all guests, especially those with allergies.

Understanding this policy beforehand is crucial for planning your trip to Lemery. If traveling with pets is a non-negotiable aspect of your vacation, you might need to consider other accommodation options in the area that do permit animals. However, for those who are not traveling with pets, this policy ensures a potentially quieter and more allergen-free environment during your stay at Royal Grande Beach Resort.

If you happen to arrive earlier than the designated check-in time, it’s always a good idea to inquire at the front desk about the possibility of an early check-in. While not always guaranteed due to room availability, the staff may be able to accommodate you if a room is ready. In cases where an early check-in isn't possible, you can usually leave your luggage with the hotel’s concierge or bell desk and begin exploring the resort or nearby areas.

The check-out time at Royal Grande Beach Resort is before 12:00 noon. This allows the housekeeping team sufficient time to clean and prepare the rooms for incoming guests. If you require a later check-out, it’s best to arrange this with the front desk in advance, as it is subject to availability and may incur additional charges. Similar to early arrivals, you can typically store your luggage after check-out if you have later travel plans.

Your Travel Guide to Lemery as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Lemery from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For travelers originating from Metro Manila, reaching Lemery in Batangas is a relatively straightforward journey. The most common and economical method is by bus. Numerous bus companies operate routes from major terminals like Cubao and Pasay, with destinations often including Batangas City or Nasugbu, making stops in Lemery. The travel time typically ranges from 2 to 3 hours, depending on traffic conditions and the specific route taken. Bus fares are generally affordable, making this a popular choice for many.

If you are coming from other major Philippine cities, your first step would likely be to book flight tickets to Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). From NAIA, you can then proceed to one of the bus terminals mentioned above to catch a bus bound for Lemery. This approach offers flexibility, especially for those traveling from the Visayas or Mindanao regions, allowing you to combine air and land travel efficiently.

For those who prefer the convenience and flexibility of driving their own vehicle, Lemery is accessible via the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and STAR Tollway. The route is well-signposted, and the drive from Metro Manila typically takes around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic. Royal Grande Beach Resort offers parking facilities, which is a significant advantage for those arriving by car.

Best Time to Visit Lemery

Lemery, like much of the Philippines, experiences a tropical climate. The best time to visit for most Filipino travelers seeking sunny weather and outdoor activities is during the dry season, which generally runs from November to April. During these months, you can expect lower chances of rainfall and more consistent sunshine, ideal for enjoying the resort’s pool and any planned excursions to nearby coastal areas or attractions.

The period from December to February is often considered the most pleasant, with cooler temperatures and less humidity compared to the hotter months of March to May. However, this also coincides with peak travel season, especially around the Christmas holidays and Holy Week, meaning more crowds and potentially higher prices for accommodation and transport. If you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere and potentially better rates, consider visiting during the shoulder months of November or late January to early February.

The wet season, from May to October, brings a higher likelihood of rain, which can sometimes be heavy and prolonged. While this period might see fewer tourists and lower prices, it’s important to be prepared for potential disruptions to outdoor plans. Nevertheless, even during the rainy season, there are often periods of sunshine, and the lush scenery can be quite appealing. Always check the weather forecast closer to your travel dates.

Food and Dining Near Lemery — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

When you visit Lemery, be sure to explore the local culinary scene, which offers a taste of Batangas’ distinct flavors. A must-try is **Batangas Bulalo**, a hearty and comforting soup made with beef shanks and bone marrow, slow-cooked until the meat is incredibly tender. The rich, clear broth is perfect for a satisfying meal, especially after a day out. You can find excellent versions in local eateries and carinderias around Lemery.

Another regional specialty you should sample is **Batangas Lomi**. This thick, savory noodle soup is a local favorite, typically featuring pork, liver, and various vegetables, all simmered in a rich, starchy broth. It’s a filling and flavorful dish that offers a different kind of comfort food experience. Many small restaurants and food stalls in Lemery serve their own unique take on this popular dish.

Don't leave Batangas without trying **Adobo**, a Filipino classic, but look for local variations. Batangas adobo often features a slightly different blend of spices or preparation methods that give it a unique character. Whether it's chicken, pork, or a combination, the savory and tangy flavors are always a delight. You can also explore other local seafood dishes, given Lemery’s coastal location, for fresh and delicious options.

For those with a sweet tooth, try **Puto Bumbong** if you happen to visit during the Christmas season, or explore local delicacies like **Buko Pie** (young coconut pie) which is popular in nearby Tagaytay but also available in Batangas. These treats offer a sweet conclusion to your culinary adventures in Lemery. Exploring local markets and small eateries will often lead you to the most authentic and delicious finds.

Local Culture, Safety Tips, and Essential Apps for Lemery

Filipino culture in Batangas, including Lemery, is characterized by strong family ties, respect for elders, and a generally warm and hospitable demeanor. When interacting with locals, a polite greeting and a friendly smile go a long way. It’s customary to use "po" and "opo" when speaking to elders or those in authority as a sign of respect. Understanding and appreciating these customs will enhance your interactions and overall experience.

Safety in Lemery is generally comparable to other towns in the Philippines. It’s always wise to be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas or when using public transportation. Keep your valuables secure and avoid displaying expensive items unnecessarily. For any emergencies, local police assistance can be reached through standard emergency numbers. The presence of Metro Lemery Medical Center nearby also adds a layer of security for health-related concerns.

The property was all but out of business. You shouldn't even list this property. $40 a night, it shouldn't be $10. The first night they put us in the worst room we have ever been in. Bed, cold shower, sink and crappy AC. No desk as listed, no mirror, no sheet or blanket, no towels, no tp, no bidet, no soap, there was basicly nothing. AND THE BEACH CLOSED AT 7PM. To cal this place a sesot is a joke. The worst thing is we did not get the wifi password until the last night of a 3 night stayand it came from the guard, not the person that checked us in or moved us. DO NOT STAT AT THIS PLACE. EVEN IF IT IS FREE.

Nice beach setting, nice pool, good air conditioning. The first room they gave me was bare bones, just a bed, and no wifi signal. They gave me a nicer room in the main building, but the bedroom and bathroom floors were dirty and sandy. The toilet had no seat and as you are sitting on the bare porcelain the sink is right in your face. The toilet handle was broken and I guess they expected me to use the cup and bucket to flush, but they fixed the handle when requested. TV was beautiful but didn't work... no signal. Wifi internet was spotty. Somewhat remote, fifteen minute tricycle ride to the mall, maybe twenty minutes to Taal Heritage Village. Not a great value

I cant really review this property because I didnt stay there. I booked this property in advance before traveling from Washington DC to Manila. When I got off the plane I had an email from Royal Grande saying they "regret to cancel due to cleaning." Yes they refunded my money. But it was a huge hassle to find somewhere else to stay on such short notice.
