We had a great time at the hotel because the room was so spacious. There are a lot of cabinets.

Never a Follow Up.
No matter how many times we called them, emailed them and text them, we could not get them to respond for our dates. They must be riding some high horse or their staff where communication with guests is below them. For me, hotels that do not respond after multiple attempts, illustrate the kind of service they will provide once there. Look elsewhere.

Complete dump
Filthy dirty bug infested rotted furniture, damp with mold on the ceilings wash hand basen plug hole rusted . We didn't stay there we just paid 1,500 penality not to stay horrible hotel booking .com has it down as four stars others 3 and 2 trust me it don't have one star. I was totally shocked when we saw it. It should be demolished and the rates charged do not reflect the place we stayed in Lee boutique's hotel along the street for the same rate . I think the comments placed as good for this hotel are taking the piss .

ok for the price, good customer service
simple rooms. strong hot shower. simple breakfast of egg, toast, jam, sausage, oj and instant coffee. nice view from the roofdeck. very friendly and helpful staff. easy check in and check out. design of rooms not so nice but for the price, it's ok. we had a balcony where we hung out during the night. weird that it had grills so view was obstructed. all in all, ok for the price.

Disappointing at £43 per night or even £20!
The room we occupied was small with too much furniture with no tea/coffee making facilities, although water provided on request. The balcony view was fenced and overall the property was poorly maintained. Breakfast could not be described correctly as 'continental', and the fried egg on toast was an amazing contrast with the exceptional view. This would more typically be described in the UK as an average over priced bed and breakfast. This was not good value for money and any one visiting without a car should avoid. I speak as some one with many years experience in the trade and some who has owned and run their own small hotel. Best avoided! I asked the minder to communicate our views to the owner. This probably happened but what action did they take?

Nice stay
When you arrive at the Royal Taal Inn in Tagaytay, I can imagine a frown appearing on your face. OK, as you passed a few buildings and see another one across the street, it is not exactly situated in the middle of nowhere, but still. Another frown will accompany the first one when you see the entrance way! Steep steep steep! Luckily there is a narrow stairway going down. A friendly welcome by the guard (on occasions even armed though sometimes the bullet holder was absent), who leads you to the reception while having the goodness to take the big suitcase with him. I am sure that I would arrive down prior to my case. Remembering the steepness of that entrance way... At the reception another friendly welcome! Keys and up to the room. After the luggage was put in a corner back to the reception for the paperwork. Friendly, polite and above all efficient! In no time, the official part was done. Back to the room! A superior one! Bathroom, bedroom and balcony with a grand view on the lake and the crater. A lovely view on the surrounding fields too. Only the view is sufficient to make it superior. The room itself was simple and clean. Television with a few channels; airconditioning but I can't understand why these machines have to make a lot of noise. As the Royal Taal Inn is a bed & breakfast, the only meal served is the breakfast. Egg and toast and jam with coffee and juice. Simple and adequate. After a few days the egg was replaced by some small sausages (I would have been happy with a few eggs more). People used to a hearthy breakfast may no doubt grumble about the simple breakfast, but for me it surely was adequate. The rocks of ice in the juice swiftly watered the plants. There is a possibility to have food delivered if you want a meal in the evening. A late lunch or some shopping on your own while on the way back to the inn are a simple solution too. Checking out happended with the same speed and efficiency as the checking in. Bed & breakfasts are usually meant for shorter stays, but I can recommend the Royal Taal Inn even for a longer one. Peaceful, quiet and the view...
