Great location, not-so-great owner
We booked a stay here through Filipino Travel Center (see my review there). We were scheduled to arrive at 11PM after doing a Pinatubo Trek in Pampanga (an 8 hour drive away that requires a 330AM Manila pick-up). When we arrived, FTC didn't advise Sanafe that we would arrive late so the iron gates were locked (their curfew is 830PM). The driver did not have a phone number, so he kept knocking hoping to wake someone up to no avail for 10-15 minutes. Not what you want after being up for almost 24 hours. Luckily, I had a phone and was able to find a number for Sanafe and it was the owner (Susan?)'s mobile - she was in Manila - and she begins to berate and yell at me!! Aren't we the client/guest?? I get that there was a miscommunication but why is she yelling at me when we politely let her know we were outside? After losing her cool, Susan then called her daughter (Jocelyn?) and woke her up. Jocelyn was not happy either, but was at least professional and said she would take it up with FTC. I liked the view overseeing the rice terraces, the home cooked Filipinio meals and the other customer service around the lodge/restaurant. Accommodations are simple, but everything you need and it's centrally located. The experience with the main owner left a bad impression though.

Nice Place, very accommodating owner
Shared a deluxe double room with my friend. The room was very nice and the staff gave good service. They have a very cozy dining area. Food was just ok and unfortunately we were not able to try their specialty dessert - fried bananas with sesame seeds. the owner allowed us to check in early, which we greatly appreciate. Loved chatting with her as well since we were the only guests at the time :)

Wonderful Stay!
After a long day of sight seeing, this was a great place to come back to! We had the deluxe double room which was very clean and had a wonderful view. Service was great, we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast and the view from the restaurant was amazing! Thank you for a great stay!

Great view, location and clean rooms
Had a nice Deluxe Queen room with view on the rice terraces however we had no own balcony. The veranda of the restaurant is compensating for this as from here the view is great. Food was OK but nothing special. We liked a lot that they are offering a late checkout which is allowing you to shower after a full day tour before going on a night bus to manila.

Great value and location!
We stayed in one of the deluxe queen rooms and had a terrific time. The room was spotless with a private washroom and hot water. There is a beautiful view of the terraces from the room. The staff at the lodge were really helpful - we were allowed to check in early after arriving on an overnight bus from Manila. The bus lets off around 1-2km from the lodge and you need to pay a 50 peso/person fee for the region. Regina picked us up from the bus and acted as our tour guide for the 2 days we were in the region. She was fantastic and highly recommended! She took us into Batad and around the terraces in Banaue and had great recommendations to make the most of our time. The restaurant has a covered patio with views of the terraces which is great for a drink before dinner. We only had breakfast at the lodge which was good.
