My second time staying in their 2 bdrm suite and it was excellent. We had a great view of makati on the 30th floor. Breakfast buffet is super with traditional Filipino breakfast and the coffee bar is good too. The suites are always hard to book but this time I got lucky.

We had an amazing 3-day stay at Somerset Makati during a quick trip to Manila! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond—everyone from the front desk team to the bellhop and especially the restaurant staff for the daily breakfast buffet were incredibly kind, warm, and attentive to all of our needs. The breakfast buffet was a highlight with just the right amount of variety, and the team was always ready with helpful suggestions and quick responses to any questions. When a minor issue came up in our room, they addressed it immediately and efficiently—such a testament to their excellent service. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to Greenbelt and Glorietta, making it so easy to explore and enjoy Makati. The area felt very safe and was easy to navigate, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Having a Lawson convenience store right onsite was a huge plus for any last-minute snacks or essentials. We’re so grateful for the wonderful hospitality and would absolutely recommend Somerset Makati to family and friends. Looking forward to staying here again on our next trip to Manila!

We enjoyed our stay at Somerset Millennium. It was our the first time and we got upgraded to a suite with a king size bed and living room. The beds and pillows nice and comfy--super important. The AC was self-programmable too! The breakfast spread was great--offered a good variety to make up your choice of "silog" variations, if thats your thing. The pool was good for a swim after walking around. Location is ideal, Greenbelt is a short walk. Staff is super accommodating and friendly. The neighborhood is quiet and I felt safe.walking around. Plenty of dining options (even more upscale ones, if that's your thing) within short walking distance. I'm glad i chose Somerset Millennium over the other options... price point is a very good value for the property and location.

Your Travel Guide to Makati as a Filipino Traveler

Reaching Makati from major Philippine cities is a journey many Filipinos undertake for business, leisure, or family visits. If you're flying from Cebu or Davao, your destination will be Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila. From NAIA, you can take a taxi or a ride-sharing service directly to Makati, a trip that typically costs between PHP 300-500 and takes 30-60 minutes depending on traffic.

Booking your flight in advance through platforms like Traveloka can often secure better prices, especially if you plan your trip during the off-peak season. For those traveling from further afield within Luzon, bus travel is a viable and economical option. Major bus terminals in Metro Manila serve routes from various provinces. From these terminals, you can transfer to a bus bound for Makati or take a jeepney or taxi.

For travelers coming from provinces accessible by land, bus travel is a common and budget-friendly choice. For instance, from Northern Luzon, buses typically arrive at terminals in Cubao or Pasay. From these terminals, you can catch a bus or UV Express service heading directly to Makati. The journey can range from 6 to 10 hours, with fares typically falling between PHP 800-1,200, depending on the bus company and service type (e.g., regular vs. air-conditioned).

Driving your own vehicle is also an option, with major expressways like the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) connecting to Metro Manila. Navigating within Makati involves understanding its grid system and being prepared for traffic, especially during peak hours. Toll fees will apply depending on your entry and exit points.

The best time to visit Makati generally falls during the dry season, which runs from November to April. During these months, you can expect sunny days and lower humidity, making it more pleasant for outdoor activities and exploring the city. This period, however, also coincides with the peak tourist season, meaning more crowds at popular attractions and potentially higher prices for flights and accommodation.

If you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere and potentially better deals, consider visiting during the shoulder months of November or February. The wet season, from May to October, brings occasional heavy rainfall, which can impact travel plans and make commuting more challenging. However, this period often sees fewer tourists and lower prices, and the rain showers are usually brief, allowing for plenty of indoor activities and dining.

Makati offers a culinary landscape that reflects the Philippines' diverse gastronomic heritage. Filipino travelers must try dishes like *Adobo*, a savory and tangy stew of meat (often chicken or pork) braised in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and peppercorns. Another essential is *Sinigang*, a sour and savory soup, typically made with tamarind broth and your choice of meat and vegetables; its comforting tang is a beloved Filipino classic.

For a taste of something richer, *Kare-Kare*, a thick, savory stew made with oxtail and vegetables in a peanut sauce, served with *bagoong* (shrimp paste), is a must-try. Don't leave without sampling *Lechon*, a whole roasted pig known for its incredibly crispy skin and succulent meat, often available in restaurants specializing in Filipino cuisine.

For street food enthusiasts, *Isaw* (grilled chicken or pork intestines) and *Kwek-Kwek* (deep-fried quail eggs coated in an orange batter) offer a more adventurous and authentic local experience, often found in night markets or along busy streets.

When visiting Makati, it's helpful to be aware of local customs and safety. Filipinos are generally known for their hospitality and politeness; using "po" and "opo" when addressing elders or those in authority is a sign of respect. While Makati is considered one of the safer cities in Metro Manila, it's always wise to remain aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas, and to secure your belongings. Keep emergency numbers handy, such as the local police hotline (117).

For navigation and convenience, consider downloading essential apps: Grab for ride-hailing and food delivery, Google Maps for directions, and perhaps a currency converter app if you plan on shopping extensively. These tools can significantly enhance your travel experience and help you navigate the city with ease.

The hotel itself was in a good area and the staff on hand are always friendly. You’re taken care of quite nicely with the breakfast and other accommodations offered by the hotel. My experience with the hotel itself was ruined by my first hotel room. There was live roaches inside of my room not once but twice in a span of 24 hours. After I informed the front desk the action was quick and they moved me to a new room. The new room had no more and was cleaned throughly. However after that it ruined the overall good experience that I had been having. Overall it is indeed a good hotel with malls and restaurants in walking distance. Wish that it was a little more clean though

Over all it was just ok. I was disappointed with the restaurant menu and especially the buffet breakfast. As someone who is not a foodie, and coming from the west, I was disappointed that it was strictly Filipino food. I tried to rate my hotel stays as someone coming from outside the area culture. If a hotel and or a hotel restaurant only cater to the local culture that I don’t recommend it for international travelers. If you love Filipino food then this is a good place for you to stay. Staff was wonderful, friendly and helpful. Though on my check out, the elevator did break and I couldn’t call for the other elevator. That was a bit annoying, but it didn’t take long for somebody to come up to my floor.

This is my second time staying at the Somerset Millenium Makati. The location is excellent - safe, has a parking garage, and close to Greenbelt Shopping Center and others 10 minutes further away. The staff is super friendly and responsive. In general, the rooms are nicely decorated but need an update soon.
