Southwinds Hotel
I kind of like this hotel. It's just fine. First reason is that it is nearby malls. Very close to it is the Centrio. If you're checking in to this hotel, you won't be having troubles when you had emergency errands at night. The hotel, itself, is old. I think it is one of the old hotels in Cagayan. Still, it is nice though not that classy and luxurious. The room is very much spacious, the second reason why I like it. My favorite part is the carwash service. Though I do not like much the breakfast meal. I had a troubled tummy once. I don't know if it's from their food I ate. But on the my second time check in, I didn't experience a troublesome tummy. Maybe it was just the combination of food I ate the first time I got there. Still, I would rather have breakfast outside the hotel. Room rate is 1,300 (rounded off)

Very old, Very run down hotel
Where do i begin? Southwinds hotel is an old, run down hotel. It is not for the weak-kneed since it doesnt have an elevator. My friend stayed at my room while waiting for his room to be cleaned. 30 mins later, he checked on the adjacent room and found the 2 cleaners watching tv. Sooo efficient, right? At least the room is neat, no musty smell, small, basic, looking so 70's except for the flatscreen tv. No refrigerator for this Deluxe room, no toiletries provided, no slippers. For the complimentary drinking water, pad out of your room to the water dispenser located centrally at the stairs landing, using the glasses provided in ur room. Bath towels available only on request. Or did they miss out mine? The CR is dirty-white in color, with a new coat of pain above the tiles, but you have to check the flusher-- turn the knob forcefully and the reservoir doesnt fill anymore. Plus point for the hot and cold shower, minus pointS for the rust-smelling water, both hot and cold. The corridor ends are piled up with old furniture... which kinda gives the creepy haunted hotel feeling. Breakfast is ok. Overall, really needs a super extraordinary make over! Plus points to the concierge/ front desk and restaurant staff, though. They're the only ones who kinda made the stay bearable.

Dirty Hotel
This hotel is very old and very dirty. Most of the rooms smells like cigarettes. They haven't maintained the cleanliness, when we checked in, the way they run the hotel is still like in the 90s when I first visited the hotel when I was still in college. The only asset they have is their location, it is right next to the centrio mall, other the that everything is terrible.

Accessible and affordable hotel....
hotel's location is very good since it's very near ayala mall, kitkai mall and cogon market. although the building is quite old, the room and bathroom is clean and ok. what i don't like is that their beds are 2 separate single beds, not suitable for couples. wifi is not available inside the room, only at the lobby area. anyway, the rates are affordable...

They know what customer service is...
The staff are very helpful and knows what customer service is. The hotel is next beside a mall and its just very convenient. The rooms are old but well-kept. When we arrived the air-conditioning was broken in our room, the staff changed our air-conditioning unit right away. They also didnt mind when we started checking other vacant room and select a room ourselves. We also hosted a few visitors and they were very helpful. Executed lunch and dinner meetings instruction I left. Helped out with the printing and other impossible request we have placed to make everything perfect. There is a smoking area in the restaurant. They even looked after the fighting cocks we had that needs to be feed. Salute to these guys!!!
