great for the price.
The rooms were not the greatest. This is more of a family run hotel and they make you feel like part of the family. Nice breakfast. every morning. We basicly used this place mainly to sleep so did not spend much time during the day there. What i like about it was it was a bit away from downtown and nice and quiet at night. Ony 20 peso ride into town when you needed it. We stayed 5 nights there moslty taking the boat tours during the day and crashing at the hotel for sleep.

Safe Haven
After an incident with another transient house, we found our way here late in the evening. There was only one room available when we got here and there were 8 of us in the group but the host still accepted us and had all the furniture taken out including two bed frames just to accommodate us. That's just how helpful they were. They gave us about 5 mattresses and pillows we could use. Despite the room being intended for 3 persons we weren't worried about the heat or being cramped, the AC is fully functional and the room spacious. On our first night, 3 of us didn't sleep at the room. The breeze was so nice we decided to sleep outside. The area felt secure because there was a gate and a guard. The dining area is also open throughout the night and coffee is free! Yay! Me and my friend slept at one of the kubo and the other slept on the bed that was taken outside. I couldn't sleep though because of the other event but I still felt well rested I was able to climb Mt. Tapyas. Breakfast is available very early in the morning. Just inform their staff if you need it earlier like we did because we had to leave early for our flight back. What I really like about the place is that it's very spacious, very clean with lots of plants. The socialization areas are separate from the buildings where the rooms are so you don't have to worry about disturbing other guests even if your group stays up late and a bit noisy. They have three big huts and three large tables making it a really great place for big groups. Hot shower is now available and the owner said she had to close it to make improvements and renovations and I'd say it's a big big plus. They can also cook your food for 50 Php. They did a good job with the squid we brought with us. I'm not sure though if they charge different for foreign guests as I've read another review stating that they charged 12 USD for laundry. As for the cost, we got a good deal because we were charged 300 Php each person per night. Considering we only rented one room, it may cost more for smaller groups. Breakfast is also free. By the way, this lodge is far from the main center so if you have activities very early in the morning it's best to make travel arrangements the day before for pick up since public transport may not readily available or just talk to their staff to arrange it. Though their dining area is open the whole night, the staff retire around 10 pm or so so make sure you've got everything you need before then. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Stayed here compliments of Philippine Airlines
I would have not stayed at this hotel of my own doing. Our flight was cancelled and Philippine Airlines up us up here for the night. The bed had some type of a hard surface - some people call it a mattress - I am not sure what it was. We had no hot water heater in our room. Breakfast was included - it was OK...garlic rice, SPAM, The best part of the night was we met new friends.
