Overpriced Rubbish
We stayed here for two nights and the place was a joke. They charged us more than advertised for the water in the room, and my husband decided to be honest about a piece of junk ceramic ornament covered in chips that he knocked over, and they slugged us with a huge charge for that. That’s how they repaid our honesty. You can stay in town much cheaper than this hotel. Avoid like the plague.

Wonderful Experience!
Moalboal, so far, my most wonderful sea diving and snorkling experience. Amazed and really had fun! A lot of good foods and restos to choose from. Sumisid Resort is so simple yet very satisfactory. Good coffee huh! Cool receptionists and tour guides, too! Visit Moalboal and try Sumisid Resort! Have fun!

Great location, nice hotel
We stayed in both the fan room up at the top with shared bathroom and the bigger air conditioned private room. We didn't last long in the fan room, found it too hot. Was hotter in the room than in the hallway! So we paid a little more to transfer to the a bigger room downstairs and we're glad we did as it made our stay more enjoyable (despite being a little out of our normal travel budget) Room was big and clean, bed comfortable. Breakfast was really nice. Location of the lodge is in the middle of the little town. The lounge/verandah area for breakfast was lovely. Staff all were helpful and friendly. Would recommend staying here.

Basic clean accommodations with sardine school right off shore
I visited Moalboal specifically for the sardine run. My family of 3 stayed 3 nights in room 1. This place is reasonably priced with a great location for my purpose (snorkeling) I wish I saw some turtles but we did see millions of sardines and other fishes. Seaweed expected. Breakfast served on the patio was a real treat overlooking the beach. Choice of egg, ham, bacon, toast, tang, and coffee. Upgrade to a delicious cappuccino for minimal amount. Room was clean (but as with all tropical places expect some bugs.) small refrigerator for water. Not much counter space for luggage. The bathroom had a shower - no tub- bring a washcloth if u want one. There's a Dispensing unit for hand soap at sink and a dispensing unit for soap/shampoo in shower. If you need hair conditioner bring your own. Note although our room had air conditioning it was remote controlled and the timer kept cycling so the AC would turn off after 90 minutes- this meant being woken by a warm room and necessitating a restart of AC. We questioned the staff about reprogramming it but they weren't receptive to our request.

Everything is all good
Sumisid Lodge is right smack on the beachfront where the sardine bowl is - no need to take a boat ride to the sardines as they are right in front. Unlike some resorts with no beach, Sumisid Lodge has fine white sand beach for sun bathing or beach bumming. It has a wide open resto facing the sea with beach tables within a terraced fence. Right beside is their sister company, Seaquest Dive Center for my diving needs. Everything is all good here.
