Best resort in Malapascua
Went to Malapascua in january 2016 and stayed on this resort, and loved the island, so when it was time to go back the place to stay was a no brainer where to stay. Last time did i book an standard room and it was a nice room in a house with 6 rooms (I think) but this time did I decided to try an Superior room since the price different was so small, and it was definitely worth it. I was lucky enough to get a room with ocean view (but no sunset view, that is spared for the deluxe cottage). The room itself was nice, pretty much the same layout as the standard room, the only different was the balcony with the ocean view (instead of porch with garden view in the standard room). The cleaning was good and daily and if you buy some reason didnt want it you just told the maid. Same with the service, had some slight problem with the bill when checking out but it was just an computer error and was quickly fixed so no big deal and stuff like that happens, and i have to mention about the lovely owner of the hotel that always greats you, always have a smile on her face and always makes you feel welcome. The resort has it own beach and in my opinion is it way better then bounty beach simply because there is no sea urchin there, also it has one of the best sunsets in the world (and i have seen alot of them). Also a nice little bar down the beach that i havent tried since i was there for diving and didnt spend so much time at the beach, but always nice to be available to get something to drink. So anything bad? Not really tbh, if its something that you could complain on its the internet, but who goes to malapascua to surf the internet? Yes other places on the island got a more stable internet but yeah you dont need it, and its enough to upload some pictures on instagram etc. So to make it short, a great hotel on a great island, with a great owner. If you have the money and arent a solo traveller like me then go for the delux room, especially if you are a couple. Its worth every penny then.

Just amazing
Booked Tepanee through Thresher Shark Divers and it really made for a perfect retreat from a long day diving. I had a Deluxe room overlooking the sea. I loved the rustic but sheltered feel of the room and the quietness of the location. I am planning to return in May and wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Rustic, Comfy and Quiet
We stayed at Tepanee for four nights. We shared a room w our daughter. We went to Malapascua to dive. The resort is really comfortable and down to earth. The greenery, use of wood and stone to build, and the beautiful flowering trees make for a nice atmosphere. The food is good at the Italian restaurant on site. As is the neighboring Italian place. The room was clean and we had quick response and support to any questions. The front desk staff is very helpful and cheerful. We dove with Thresher Shark Diving; it is a five minute walk. Not really a big deal but we had terrible rainy and windy weather, so the long walk and many stairs up to the room weren't really a plus for me. One suggestion for the resort: if most of your guests are divers then add hooks or rails in the room, bathroom or balcony. With all the wet gear of three divers, we could have used more space to hang up stuff. That's just a suggestion, everything else was great at Tepanee. It's too bad about the bad weather bc we missed out on the best sites (besides threshers). Would I return to Tepanee? Yes! But not sure I will go back to Malapascua bc the drive between Cebu and Maya Pier is quite likely long and tedious.

Almost perfect, quiet and private
First time in Malapascua but not in other resorts in the islands. It was good and the resort was well managed. Privacy was its utmost concern as the rooms are designed in such a way that you will not see the other guests and the door for each cottage is not parallel with the other rooms. Loved our stay here because of its privacy and uniqueness. It has its own beach but keep in mind that it is rocky however it is good for snorkelling as there are still some corals and you can swim with the fish. If you want white fine sands then you can just walk on the other side along with the other resorts. Wifi is a bit of a challenge if you want to be connected. They have a limit of 1 GB per day but who needs wifi if you are in paradise. Also loved the effort with the flowers. Thanks a lot for the sweetness!

Great find in a remote location
My wife and I have stayed in a number of similar places in the Philippines; this is yet another one that offers a great stay at a very reasonable price. We went "all in" and got one of the beachfront villas, which I would recommend to anyone for the great view and privacy they offer. The rooms aren't really luxurious, but very adequate in size, clean, and with a comfortable bed and all the amenities you'd expect. The location on Malapascua is excellent, right on a point between the two main beaches and very close to all the "action" and good restaurants on the island. We arranged transfer from Mactan airport to the hotel; this was very convenient as we were picked up from the airport and delivered right to the hotel's beach. It's a long trip between the van and the boat, but much more comfortable than the bus and public ferry I suspect. The staff at the hotel were always friendly and helpful; they seemed to be able to arrange anything you'd like to do. The hotel's beach isn't all that great unfortunately, pretty rocky and very small also at high tide. Just a short walk to Bounty Beach on the island's south edge brings you to a much nicer beach; that's also where most of the dive shops, restaurants, etc. are located. Overall we had an enjoyable and relaxing stay at Tepanee.
