Your Travel Guide to Quezon City as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Quezon City from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For the most convenient booking, book flight tickets through Traveloka and compare fares across major airlines.

For travelers coming from other parts of the Philippines, flying into Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila is the most common method. Major Philippine carriers like Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and AirAsia operate frequent flights to Manila from various provincial capitals. Fares can range from PHP 2,000 to PHP 6,000 or more, depending on the season and how far in advance you book your flight. From NAIA, you can take a taxi, a ride-sharing service, or the airport bus to reach Quezon City, with travel times varying from 45 minutes to over an hour due to traffic.

If you are traveling from nearby provinces in Luzon, taking a bus is a more economical option. Numerous bus companies operate daily trips to Quezon City, with major terminals located in Cubao and Pasay. Bus fares typically range from PHP 500 to PHP 1,500, depending on the origin and the type of bus service. The journey can take anywhere from 4 to 10 hours, depending on your starting point and road conditions. Planning your bus trip in advance can help you secure a comfortable seat and a convenient schedule.

For those who prefer to drive, Quezon City is accessible via major expressways. If you are coming from the north, the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) connects to the city. From the south, you would typically use the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and then navigate through Metro Manila’s road network. Toll fees will apply, and travel time can vary significantly based on traffic, especially during peak hours. Having a GPS or navigation app is highly recommended for a smoother driving experience.

Best Time to Visit Quezon City

The Philippines experiences a tropical climate, and Quezon City is no exception. The best time to visit is generally during the dry season, which runs from November to April. During these months, you can expect sunny days with lower humidity, making it ideal for exploring the city's attractions and enjoying outdoor activities. Temperatures typically range from 25°C to 35°C. This period, especially from December to February, offers the most pleasant weather for sightseeing.

The wet season, from May to October, brings occasional to frequent rainfall, often in the form of heavy afternoon downpours. While this season can be less predictable for outdoor plans, it also means fewer crowds and potentially lower accommodation prices. If you don't mind carrying an umbrella and planning your activities around potential rain showers, visiting during this time can still be very rewarding. It's also a good period to explore indoor attractions like museums and shopping malls.

For Filipino travelers looking to avoid the largest crowds and potentially find better deals on flights and accommodation, the shoulder months of November and April can be particularly appealing. These months often offer a good balance of favorable weather and fewer tourists compared to the peak holiday season of December and January. Regardless of when you choose to visit, Quezon City offers a dynamic experience year-round.

Food and Dining Near Quezon City — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

Filipino cuisine is a delightful fusion of indigenous flavors and influences from various cultures, and Quezon City offers a fantastic place to explore these tastes. One dish you absolutely must try is **Adobo**, considered by many to be the national dish. Another culinary highlight is **Sinigang**, a sour and savory soup that comes in various forms, most commonly with tamarind broth. It's typically made with pork, beef, fish, or shrimp, along with a medley of vegetables like kangkong, radish, and tomatoes. The sourness is incredibly refreshing, especially on a warm day. Many restaurants in Quezon City serve this hearty soup, offering a comforting and authentic taste of home.

For those who enjoy grilled specialties, **Lechon Kawali** is a must-try. This dish features deep-fried pork belly that results in incredibly crispy skin and tender, juicy meat. This iconic treat is a colorful concoction of shaved ice, milk, sweet beans, fruits, jellies, leche flan, and ube ice cream. It’s a delightful mix of textures and sweet flavors, perfect for cooling down. Many dessert shops and restaurants offer their own unique take on this beloved dessert, making it an enjoyable quest to find your favorite.

Staff are courteous and accommodating. But housekeeping though staff are nice need to do better job at cleaning rooms: rooms must be vacuumed , entry way and hallways must be mopped and cleaned, elevator must be polished and cleaned no finger marks. Rooms have no ironing board and iron but they did manage to find me one to use.

Construction across the bldg starts early and housekeeping doesn’t vacuum and mop entryway as well as elevators and hallways . Perhaps due to construction on upper fly of building. But staff very nice and pleasant even housekeeping staff

Breakfast was good, and the room was perfect. The staff was accommodating and attentive, especially the breakfast crew. It was a short stay, but I will definitely come back on my next trip to the Philippines.

I was very impressed with this new hotel. The staff and service are superb. Special shout out to Jason and Jezreal who managed the front desk during the evening/early morning. But all members of the staff are amazing and are all customer-focused. Everyone in the front desk and security are friendly and helpful, so are everyone working in the restaurant. The breakfast is great. It was part of my hotel room cost, and it included lunch items as well. A great value in my opinion. Some of my observations: 1. Gym is not open yet. 2. Second elevator is not yet working. 3. AC in the room was leaking sometimes onto the second bed which I was not using, so no biggie. 4. A safe is available if you request for one. It's a new hotel so I know management is working on these things. EXCELLENT hotel overall and I would stay here again.

Quality of the internet is bad, other than that everything is good. Please note that this is very important especially to those with business trip

The staff seems courteous, room is totally clean and the corner of building are all good…but the major problem is the internet( this is essential to all aspects of our daily life in general.

Staff esp receptionists are courteous and helpful. Daily housekeeping is nice but sometimes they forgot to clean the glasses, replace stuff needed. We wish the whole area is conditioned coz lobby and elevators are not. The hotel is only a year old and maybe more upgrade on the way
