Views overload
My family stayed at the Penthouse on the resort.Breathtaking views of the mountains greet you on the back verandah, and as you go along the side ,partial view of the sea entices you too.The pool is great and the restaurant overlooking the sea caters to your culinary needs and relaxation. The staff (everyone of them) deserves a pay rise or a big round of applause. The only minor detail that needs improving is the quality of towels and bath mat. They seemed very old and worn out plus the complimentary toiletries are the ones available on the market (individual sachet for shampoo, toothpaste etc).We were also expecting some complimentary coffee, teabags which we didn't find but got them when we asked for it.Overall we are still very pleased with the resort and would look forward to going back there again.

Really Relaxing Time
Stayed here for 5 nights and loved it! Great room overlooking the mountain side and jungle. free shuttle service to the beach and/or town and lovely resort pool should you wish to stay on site. Food delicious, especially the spicy red devil Pizza. and the Lechon Kawali - best I'd eaten over our 4 months in the Philippines. Staff were lovely and really helpful.... definitely be back.

Can't be asking for more for this price! Totally satisfied!!
Tribal Hills is the most satisfying hotel I've ever stayed. Of course you cannot compare it to a five-star hotel, but for the price you pay, the view and the balcony of the room, the service they render, I can't ask for more. The location is a bit inconvenient as it is on a hill, but they provide shuttle service to and from the pier and the beaches till 10pm, which is good enough for the three of us to go around, grab dinner and drinks and go back. If you want to go back later than 10pm, like we did one night at the White Beach, simply just catch a tricycle back to the hotel, it would just cost you 50 pesos (~1USD, you will have to bargain) (but heads-up, the tricycle cannot go up the hill, so you will still have to walk around 3-5 min uphill). We stayed at the Deluxe Suite as there are three of us, highly recommend you to stay at the Deluxe Suite as the balcony is AMAZING! You can see the sunset and stare at the stars at night with San Miguel! The swimming pool is not very clean, but for the price we pay, I think it's already a plus to have a swimming pool and jacuzzi at the resort. For breakfast, it's not included but the resto is not too expensive, so we do our breakfast there every day. Remember to leave enough time for the drinks and food to arrive, If you are staying here, I would recommend you to have dinner at "Sunset at Anniuan" and "Luca" at Talipanan Beach. For internet, the hotel will provide you with pocket wifi, but the reception is not very good on the island, so don't expect too much. Signal was very good at the hotel restaurant and reception. I would have to give a 5-star to all the staff, especially Bal, who took care of us during our stay, he is very friendly and helpful. We are all very very satisfied with our stay at Tribal Hills.

Stunning Views ! !
My girlfriend and I have just finished our stay at Tribal Hills. We spent 3days and 2 nights here. We rang the hotel on arrival to white beach, and were guided to the pick up point. The shuttle was already there waiting. The hotel is about 5mins drive from white beach. 2 ladies at the desk were helpful and warm. The rooms are great. Very spacious with good aircon (remote control) and lots of english speaking cable channels. Shower was stong and hot as you like. Bathroom is also large and modern. But the greatest thing about this place has to be the views from the bedroom balcony. We rented the queen deluxe room 8 . It has a view of the mountains that I could never get bored of. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. He was always around the resort and was a great source for information on what to do and where to go. Whenever you want to go to white beach, the staff will immediately drive you and are happy to do so. There's always a shuttle available at the hotel. We never experienced waiting for the shuttle. High five to the driver of the white ranger! He was very nice to us! This hotel is 15-20 walk from the beach but thats why we chose it, quiet but easy access. Just a reminder that the free shuttle is only available until 10pm. Beyond that, you either have to get a tricycle for Php100 (one way) or call for the shuttle to pick you up for Php500. Negative? There is no electric kettle available in the room, but there is a hot&cold water dispenser available outside the room. Food is nice, they have a selection of both western and local dishes. However, they come at a slightly higher price than the beachfront restaurants. But overall, we had a very enjoyable experience and, if given the chance, we will definitely go back again! It was my first time in Puerto Galera, and i loved it!

Disappointing Stay at what we hoped to be a great weekend
So my wife and I arrive using a tricycle from the port area on white beach. Relatively close, but the trike driver charged us Php150. For this distance where we are from this would be a Php 40-50. To add to that, the trike didn't take us to the resort. We were dropped at the bottom of the hill to the resort. The driveway up to the resort is easily 30-45 degree angle. if you arent wearing the proper foot wear, this could be a challenging walk....or should I say trek(?). Now as the "resort" advertises, this place is near to white beach. I can only say that it would have been easily a 45-50 min downhill there, and uphill coming back....and either way, both ways you have the final steep drive to the resort. The resort does offer a shuttle service from 6am-10pm. So coordinating during the day is fairly convenient. After 10pm you are on your own, of you need to cough up Php500 for the on call driver to take you all the way to the resort. Note that the trip from where the driver drop-offs and picks-up is closer than the tricycle stand we first came to the resort from. So we check-in. They don't have a computerized system, everything is done manually. This is a "resort" we are talking about. Staff who checked us in were a bit inept, but we got checked in. The room was large, and our room had a large wrap around balcony with a great view of the mountains and Aninuan Beach(?). There's the positive. Hotel room was good for a minimalist. Very few amenities. They had towels, sheets on the bed, and a few toiletries....these are the basic thing any motel offers. The entire resort has a limited schedule. Front office does not keep anyone on staff after 9pm. The restaurant closes at 8pm. Not much to do in the resort in the evening and not an easy way to get back if you stay out past 10pm. We were in Puerto Galera for Malasimbo Art & Music Festival. Tribal Hills did nothing to support this event for the money it was most certainly bringing in for the community, not to mention for themselves. There were other guest there for the same festival. Poor service in the restaurant and being away from any other places to eat breakfast, they don't offer breakfast included. However, the few things we did eat weren't bad. Just a little pricier than we would have expected. We felt like Tribals Hills was trying to take advantage of their guest due to the remote location. Not a fan and will not return. Friendly enough staff, but we were looking for a resort stay with some professional staff. Not going to find that here. Be fair warned if you choose to stay here.
