Not very good
The rooms were shabby and the air felt stuffed all the time. The location is not as good as it seems, in the red district. They don't let you store your luggage after check out although after much insisting we managed to.

Good for an Overnight Crash
There were three of us, and we were booked in a room good for five: there were four bunk beds and a twin bed. We just needed a place to crash in between shows, and it served its purpose. Room was cool, linens, towels were clean, we had our own restroom/ shower inside. Staff were friendly, but did require a lot of paperwork and identification even though we were paying in cash. There was also some noise in the afternoon/ evening as the place is close to a lot of bars- walls are thin, so bring ear plugs if you're looking for peace and quiet. The place is close to a lot of watering holes and Korean marts. Everything you need is just a short walk away.

Budget sleep in Makati
This place is fine if you come with no hostel expectations other than a shower & a bed. It is expensive in Manilla so this is a good budget option for a night. It was a poor sleep because every one continued to turn the lights on and come in and out during all hours of the morning though this is not the hostels fault. Their security is extremely poor though with the dorm at the top of their stairs & no guard at the entrance & people checking at all hours of the night. The cleaner made all the beds & cleaned the room and bathroom very well. The location is great & a short walk to fast food & malls.

Great staff, cleanliness could improve
Stayed at the Urban Hostel for 3 nights. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Slept in a room of 6, with a shared bathroom. At check in quite clean but cleanliness of bathroom needed to have been maintained throughout our stay. Good location, near makati avenue and mall with loads of shops, spas, bars and clubs nearby. Not too far from the airport. Would be even better if locks could've been provided or a better security storage, did not feel safe leaving my valuables in the lockers provided.

It's a good budget option
I booked a bed in the dormitory room. The room is nice and clean, slightly on the small side, but it has its own bath and toilet so that's ok. The toilet is well maintained, although I have some concerns: 1) the toilet in the dorm room has no exhaust so all "air" comes to the room. 2) the water pressure is low (add to the fact that the hostel is at the 3rd floor), and in the morning, around 7-10am, there is little or no water coming out of the faucet. I'm not sure if every room is experiencing the same issue, but there was one morning I had to sit on the floor so that I can get to have a simple shower. It would be helpful if they provided a bucket to collect water for usage. If you plan to take a bath in the morning, do it as early as 5-6am, otherwise, do it around past 10am. Regardless of the small flaw, I think the hostel is a good budget option. I think it's one of the hostels that offer cheap rooms in Makati. The staff are nice and they greet you when you come in to the hostel, even at night. The location is good as well, there are a few 24-hour convenience store nearby, with walking distance to the A Venue mall and night food market, restaurants, bars and coffee shops. If you want to go to Greenbelt, you just need to walk towards the North Park/Shakey's and take a jeep to Landmark/Greenbelt for 8 pesos (or take a taxi). If you want to go to Rockwell, take a jeep in JP Rizal for 8 pesos. It's about 15-20 minute walk to Ayala triangle. To go to the place, if you're coming from Buendia avenue, go down at Petron gas station and walk the stretch of Makati avenue until you reach Aberdeen court (you will pass by Starbucks and Wendy's on your right). A Venue will be on your left. Turn right at the street beside Aberdeen court (and the Tea shop), walk towards P. Burgos and you'll see the orange building at the corner. If you're coming from JP Rizal, alight at Makati avenue and walk towards A Venue. Aberdeen court will be on your left. Turn left at the street between Aberdeen court and the tea shop. Walk towards P. Burgos and you'll see the orange building at the corner. The first floor is a Korean restaurant. The hostel is at the 3rd floor.
