Was warmly welcomed by the very accommodating receptionist, thank you so much... we were even given extra pitcher for our complimentary drinks. thank you very much to the owner, I forgot to asked his name, the man manning the bar, the people serving at the restaurant, you were all so great, and very accommodating. Thank you so much. surely, we will be back someday. we will even recommend the resort for sure! me and my family will be looking forward to visit the resort again. god bless you all. keep it up!

Peaceful Retreat
Very clean. Comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Small, homey resort on the ocean with an ocean preserve within swimming distance. Beautiful pool also. Diving & snorkeling available. Grounds are well kept.

"No sir hôtel"
What we remember of our stay: - a very clean, quiet resort, spacious rooms, welcoming staff, fare from everything , the hotel does not have motorcycles rental on site. You have to go to Dumaguete to rent a moto for 300 pesos a day (45min by bus and you need to have your licence) or the hotel takes care of getting them for 600p a day. - the food is expensive and not very good - incredible number of rules to respect in the hotel making us change the name to "no-sir hotel". Swimming pool and bar close at 9pm and the kitchen supposedly at 8.30pm. You have to anticipate and order your pizza while ago. No outside food is allowed Everything you ask seems to be complicated, even simple requests. You have to insist to be served dinner at 8pm when they are supposed to close at 8.30pm the kitchen... There is a barbecue but if you want to use it you have to pay 200p per product type you want to grill (whether 2 different fishes or one meat and one fish for instance costs you 400p) - the island of Apo is pretty and you'll see a lot of fish and turtles there - the manager sold us the tour to Apo with a rental of masks and snorkels (150p per unit). The price firstly announced was not respected on site and the refund promised by the manager was finally canceled because we arrived there 30 min late This is a bad experience for us and I do not recommend this hotel despite the kindness of some employees.

Less rules and more customer focus
Nice resort with landscaped gardens, clean and modern rooms and great pool, so lots of positives. There is also a great dive shop on-site run by an English guy, who organised a great day trip to Apo Island. The food at the restaurant is also good, if a bit pricy. However, although the staff at the resort were really nice also, we found it hard to relax here. As with some other reviews, there are so many rules about what you can and can't do at the pool, where you can and can't walk, the requirement for them to check the room before you check out, what time you have to order a pizza by if you want pizza (which they then couldn't serve anyway), what you can and can't consume in your room, plus fines that will be imposed if you break these rules... we ended up having to hide in our room to drink a drink we bought from a shop and felt like naughty kids! I recommend the staff pay less attention to the rules and focus on providing better service, like the 50 minutes we had to wait for our breakfast of two fried eggs, and the fact that our bill was wrong on every day, despite one day only having two drinks! This is a great place to base yourself for a day trip to Apo and to chill in the grounds, the beach is pretty average, but beyond that its not worth much time beyond that - they should chill out more and focus more on the customer, then this place would be excellent.

White Chocolate Hills Resort
Well laid out facility that was on the beach, clean with friendly staff. But this is a resort let down by petty rules and a problem with our booking. Which wasn't easily resolved despite it being the resorts problem. The resort charges separately for almost everything. I had an extra coffee at breakfast and was presented with a bill that evening. We were told under no circumstances we we allowed to have any food of our own in the room and we had to surrender this food to the receptionist. This extended to some peanuts we had in our possession. This gives a poor impression as if everything is about money. From the expensive bar drinks to the massage costs. Potentially a decent place let down by petty silly rules enforced by management. Rules that disturb a good holiday
