'Twas a great experience. The room is beautiful and clean. You can really see the lake view. What's more impressing was the staff. They were nice and very welcoming.

I’ve stayed in many places around the world the space is perfect, it is very spacious and accommodating. My room was excellent for relaxation, especially being use to climate back home. Having the air con made it very comfortable. I was only there for one night and had an early check out but I could see that staying for a longer duration would be very easy to do. The price is very fair and I would highly recommend if anyone is staying for business or pleasure the Wind is an excellent choice. The price is very fair for anyone wanting to spend quality time in Tagaytay. I was one the 3rd floor and my view was very good I didn’t get a chance to check the view from a top floor window but I can tell it probably very beautiful. Most of all the incredibly pleasant staff. They are very genuine and eager to help, I felt very safe staying at the Wind.

This is my second time staying here, but I'm sad to say that the rooms I got this time were a little dated and smelled like mold (both of them). I booked two rooms, and the other room had a working aircon, but unable to turn off or adjust settings. I even bought new batteries for the remote. SMCO representative was nice and helpful, but I felt weird leaving the room keys in a locker with NO LOCK. what if someone stole the keys and cleared out the room? Will I be responsible for that? Representative assured me it's safe. She even told me about the paid parking, which was ₱350 a day. That was perfect and convenient! I wasn't aware about that on my first trip and parking was pretty far. Location was good, with a few restaurants and a small mall within walking distance, but I suggest renting a car or taking a Grab if traveling with elderly. Mornings were the best with many people to join in your morning walk. Ambiance and cooler temperatures were awesome! You also feel a sense of safety throughout most of the property. In spite of the mold in the rooms and the fact that it felt dated, I will still give it another chance and hope my next stay here will be better. Location and the big, open park to walk in is what I enjoy they most. I would still recommend this place to anyone looking for an inexpensive and enjoyable experience.

Your Travel Guide to Tagaytay City as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Tagaytay City from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For travelers coming from Metro Manila, driving is a popular option. You can take the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and then connect to the Tagaytay-Calamba Road or Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Road. The journey typically takes around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic, with toll fees amounting to approximately PHP 300-400 for a round trip for a standard car.

Alternatively, numerous bus terminals in Metro Manila, such as those in Cubao and Pasay, offer direct trips to Tagaytay City. Buses usually depart every hour. The fare ranges from PHP 150 to PHP 250 per person, one way, and the travel time is similar to driving, around 2 to 3 hours. This is a convenient and budget-friendly option for many.

For those coming from other major Philippine cities, the most efficient way is to book flight tickets to the nearest international airport, which is Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila. From NAIA, you can then follow the bus or driving routes mentioned above. Some travelers might also consider flights to Clark International Airport, followed by a bus transfer to Tagaytay.

Best Time to Visit Tagaytay City

Tagaytay City experiences a cooler climate compared to Metro Manila, making it a year-round destination. However, the best time to visit is generally during the dry season, from November to May. During these months, the weather is typically sunny and pleasant, with average temperatures ranging from 22 to 26 degrees Celsius, perfect for outdoor activities and sightseeing.

The months of December to February are particularly popular due to the cooler temperatures and festive atmosphere leading up to the holidays. This is considered peak season, so expect larger crowds and potentially higher accommodation prices. If you prefer a more relaxed visit with fewer people, consider the shoulder months of November or March to May.

The wet season runs from June to October, characterized by occasional to frequent rainfall. While you might encounter rain, it often comes in short bursts, and the city can still be enjoyed. Traveling during this period can offer lower rates on hotels and fewer tourists, and the misty, cool weather can add a certain charm to the landscape.

Food and Dining Near Tagaytay City — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

Tagaytay City is renowned for its culinary scene, offering a delightful array of Filipino dishes with a local twist. One absolute must-try is Bulalo, a hearty soup made from beef shanks and bone marrow, slow-cooked until tender. The rich, flavorful broth is perfect for Tagaytay's cool weather. Many restaurants along the ridge offer excellent Bulalo with a view.

Another local specialty is Tawilis, a type of freshwater sardine endemic to Taal Lake. It's often served fried until crispy or grilled, offering a unique savory flavor. Look for restaurants that serve fresh Tawilis, as its availability can sometimes be seasonal. It’s a simple yet delicious dish that highlights local produce.

For those with a sweet tooth, Tagaytay offers delightful treats like Buko Pie, a baked young coconut pie with a creamy, sweet filling and a flaky crust. It's a popular pasalubong (take-home gift) item. You'll find numerous bakeries selling fresh Buko Pie, perfect for a snack or a gift for loved ones back home.

Don't forget to try the local coffee and hot chocolate, especially during the cooler months. Many cafes and restaurants offer locally sourced beans and rich, creamy hot chocolate that perfectly complements the Tagaytay ambiance. Exploring the local eateries is part of the Tagaytay experience.

Local Culture, Safety Tips, and Essential Apps for Tagaytay City

Filipino culture is generally warm and hospitable. When visiting Tagaytay City, showing respect to elders and locals is appreciated. A simple "po" and "opo" (yes, respectfully) goes a long way. Be mindful of noise levels, especially in residential areas or shared accommodations.

Tagaytay City is generally a safe destination for tourists. However, like any popular area, it's wise to be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded places. Keep your valuables secure and avoid displaying excessive amounts of cash. In case of emergencies, local police hotlines are available.

For navigation and information, having a reliable smartphone is key. Essential apps include Google Maps for directions, Grab for transportation if you prefer ride-hailing, and of course, the Traveloka app for managing your bookings and discovering local attractions. Having offline maps downloaded can also be helpful in areas with spotty internet.

It's also a good idea to have local contact numbers handy, such as your hotel's front desk and emergency services. Familiarizing yourself with basic Tagalog phrases can also enhance your interactions with locals and enrich your travel experience in this beautiful part of Cavite.

Not well maintained, needs renovation. Also, they have changed 2 bedroom unit to 2 separate units without notice to client. We are family of five and supposed to be staying in 1 unit of 2 bedrooms so we can have bonding but we were informed upon arrival that they don't have the unit and we're left with no option but to take what is available. Bed foams and sofa are very old really hurt the back. No wifi internet but Hotels.com indicates with wifi. Also, we were informed by the agent that we need to be out by 11:30am, this is earlier that what is posted in Hotels.com website when i book.

The number for the property is no longer in use. You dont have any contact with the condo owner. We waited for a significant akount of time at the property frontdesk to wait for someone to check us in. When the staff arrived they told us that they dont have our booking details, and if when did we booked it. This is considering that we have booked the hnit 2 weeks prior. When we came into the unit, there is no hot water system for showers. The taps are all leaking and making generator kind noises all night. It was really hard to sleep with all that faucet raucous. Expedia should that a good look into delisting this one. Overall, very bad experience for me and my family.

Nothing was free, unlike advertised. Pool was a P300 a day use that was not mentioned during my reservation. The self-parking was a lie too because they charged me P700 for two days of parking for the space assigned to the unit. The unit was fine but could use more cleaning and upkeep. I guess you really get what you pay for!

The unit if not the best , has got one of the best views of the Tall lake! However ; it needs maintaining and updating. The host and staffs are polite accommodating and reliable. Yes we paid a reasonable rate/price , but still its no excuse as to why the unit is dated and almost rundown; almost all of the drawers and cabinets door are broken , the rice cooker is rusty, and the silvers are not presentable . Since they want to be in the business of having their unit to be rented out, it is only fair and reasonable on the guests end to have a clean updated well kept place to stay. Hope the owners wont take this review negatively, Again I will repeat your place unit got one of the best view of the lake, maybe if you will take more time and effort to update and maintain it a lot of future guests will recommend you more.

I’ve stayed in many places around the world the space is perfect, it is very spacious and accommodating. My room was excellent for relaxation, especially being use to climate back home. The room was not very clean. Smells old and there were bugs that bit me. It was not comfortable at all. Took photos of the bugs and my swollen legs.

Love where we at the 23rd floor. For its price, cant complain. For suggestion, with a little re-design, it can be instagrammable. Thank you so much

The room was filthy. I was supposed to be in Tower 4, but they decided tower 3 is the same accommodation. It was not the same. It was an old building with very basic room amenities. How can you offer this room to guest coming from thousands of miles and looking for a nice vacation. You should be ashamed Wind Residence Tagaytay. I believe they have 20 or more rooms offering it in Expedia, hotels and other sites. Your rooms are not for tourist coming from other countries who require decent room amenities. Take your room ads off this sites. I'm so embarrassed as a Filipino.

I wished they are more informative of how the check in process is at least a day before the check in front desk is not well informed of how we should get our assistance to get up to unit… and more cleaning supplies/equipment in unit to maintain the cleanliness of place.
