Everything is good except for the bar noise every night. So hard to sleep.
Very good place to go. Got entertainment around including in Z Hostel building (roof deck area)
The worst hostel experience I had so far. I've stayed in several hostels in a number of places - Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Hanoi, Bangkok, Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Krabi, Phuket and KL - but my experience is Z Hostel was the worst. The receptionists were not friendly at check-in. I was with my brother and two cousins and we were asked for ID card upon check-in. Unfortunately, one of us has forgot to bring an ID card. I was hoping that the receptionists could give us options so we can comply with the hostel's requirements. The staff could have probably suggested that we check out the rooftop bar while waiting for someone to send a copy of ID card or we can give the copy of ID card in the morning since it was already very late when we checked in. The approach of the receptionists should have been more friendly and accommodating rather than us feeling discriminated in our own country.
Good for solo travelers who want to meet other people
I love it's cleanliness. The linens smelled so good and both the room cr and common cr were free from dirt. I also love the security there. Thanks, Z. Till next time!
It was a nice place. I just want my bathroom clean and I don't think i'm a type of person that should share bathroom with 8 people. that's why I used the common bathroom with 2 shower cubicle rather than the one inside the room which just get cleaned once a day.
I loved it here! I will definitely come back! Thanks for the awesome experience, Z!
The place is great and well maintained.
I think they prioritize the foreigners very well but the locals poorly

Average Hostel
My friend and I stayed in this hostel for 2 nights. I regretted opting for room at high floor (level 6) because we could hear loud music from the rooftop bar, the music went on till 3am. We did check out the roof top bar and it was extremely packed! We only stayed there for less than 20 minutes and we went back to our room with our drinks (which was much more comfortable). The cleanliness of the room was okay. The concierge service was okay. The choice of breakfast was limited and the taste was average. Hence, the title of my review is Average Hostel.

Probably the most luxury hostel ever!
The whole place is extremely clean and the rooms are cleaned to a high standard on a daily basis. The beds are comfortable (unlike most hostels) and also convenient, as each bed had its own plug socket, and lamp attached to the wall. The room also had a ensuite bathroom with a shower, the water was lovely and warm and the shower was a powerful one too. It also came with a vanity table with a well lit mirror and they provided cotton buds, mouth wash, coconut oil and more. Towels are also provided. The first night I was a little cold as the aircon was on, and I was located on the 6th floor which is where the roof top bar. I could hear music throughout the night so sadly didn't have the best nights sleep but I spoke to reception the following day and they provided me with a blanket and earplugs for free and this solved both of my problems. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They remembered my name and always said "hello bianca" which was a nice personal touch. They also helped us plan our next trip to the rice paddies and booked the night bus for us while I went out for food. The roof top bar has good views of Manila and is worthwhile taking a look at night to see the city lit up. I would defiantly recommend this hostel to anyone x

Nice simple rooms
I stayed here for one night as it was the meeting point for a week long tour, the first impressions upon arrival were good, there is a doorman who was very polite, the decoration is all very modern and clean. The reception staff were polite enough but a little difficult to understand. There is a small seating area where the breakfast is located which was pleasant, although not much room should a lot of people come down at once. I slept in a dorm room that slept 6 people, the beds were simple but comfortable they each had a light and a socket on the wall. Each person had their own locker which were very big and able to store bags as large as the one i had. There was one bathroom that included 1 toilet, and 1 shower but perfectly clean and orderly. Interestingly they have a small roof top bar here, which runs on a pre-loaded wristband system, the drinks were a reasonable price with very nice views over the city of Manila. The only let down for ZHostel is the breakfast, it was very poor and had very little to offer.

Best Deal for a Solo Traveller
Had a quick trip to Manila for my pop's birthday and decided I needed some alone time after so I checked in here as this was in my radar for the longest time. Little did I know that most rooms are dorm type. Since my need is just a decent place to bunk in Z provided the best option. Not only is this the perfect spot as I have still my unchecked food crawl places to check out in Poblacion, their rooftop bar is quite something to cap your night. Saw several tours that they can help you with, something I'd definitely give a try when I come back.

Reasonable Price and good location
Chose to stay at Z Hostel over a hotel for the experience and to expose my boyfriend the "hostel life". Can't say that we truly experienced it since it is not peak season but we had no noise complaints with other guests or issues. We booked through Agoda with a great price that included breakfast for two days. It was a standard light breakfast but enough to keep our Hanger at bay until we walked around. Hostel is in a great location since Poblacion has so many hipster and up and coming cafes, lounges and restaurants. Just walk any way you want from the hostel and I guarantee you will find a place to eat or drink and make new friends! Staff are all super friendly, accommodating and very helpful.
