Fantastic hotel always welcoming. I hope to stay there many more times. Lovers love ❤️ Complainers our only happy when they do. For only a 3 star hotels I think it offer much more than its rating. The Dining room and panoramic views are a major wow factor.

The property is a good base from which to explore the area if you have a car. Breakfast is plentiful with a wide variety. Beds are somewhat comfy. Access to fridge is available if you ask. Parking is free. Fairly quite at night but rooster’s will get you up in the morning ready for the next day!

This is one of those special, out-of-the-way places that makes a vacation fun and unique. The staff was helpful and courteous, the food was tasty, and the views were outstanding. Our room was quaint but tidy, and the grounds were inviting. Best of all, the rate was perfect for our budget. I highly recommend the Alte Hotel to anyone visiting the Algarve region!

Charming 3☆ Hotel that provides a lot more than is expected. Staff friendly and helpful. Food fabulous. Views from the dining area rightout to the coast line. An unbeatable vista. Gardens arranged with many seating areas, that offer private cloisters as an alternative to just sitting poolside. The Alte hotel is a secret jewel that I will be visiting again and again. Love it.

Stayed at this hotel 6 times and always have a comfortable stay. This last visit was during a storm. The hotel was warm and comfortable with no impact on their usual great customer service. A special mention to the young lady on reception whose friendly bubbly personality shone through. Finally the restaurant has never failed to serve up quality well presented food.

Lovely staff and the hotel is situated well for visiting other areas of the Algarve. My only criticism is that the tv in our room was ancient and incapable of satellite reception.. we requested a replacement but it never arrived. Otherwise I will recommend this hotel if you want peace and quiet. Exceptionally clean throughout.

Traditional and a bit past it’s best, but comfortable enough for a few nights. Thin walls - bad news if your neighbors like to watch TV at full volume ( luckily I changed rooms). Friendly and helpful staff. Nice pool. Isolated and about 1km from the small village of Alte. Can be windy due to being high up in the hills.

The 30 room Hotel Alte is situated in a quiet and peaceful location 300+ metres above sea level with far reaching views. The property is in need of updating but was clean, the staff were all friendly and helpful and, for the price paid, our stay was good value for money. Rooms have air conditioning, there is a pool with a lawned area for sunbeds, a tennis court a snooker table and a restaurant serving breakfast lunch and dinner. We were more than happy with our stay and may well return the next time we choose Portugal as a holiday destination. Despite some previous critical reviews we read, any concerns we had were unfounded. Fantastic value but don't expect 5 Star luxury. Do expect a quiet unpretentious hotel, away from the tourist hotspots, plenty of parking and with staff who all work to make sure your stay is enjoyable. From 2 very satisfied senior citizens.
