Hotel Alvorada

The hotel was good quality and the location perfect.

The best staff, extremely helpful and friendly. They would do anything for us. They even got us an emergency taxi when our pre booked airport shuttle didn't turn up.

Our second stay here, and this hotel is great value for money in a beautiful neighbourhood with a railway station just down the road offering quick access to Lisboa.

Great place to stay

The glass door did not lock...felt unsafe. The staff did not respond to my concern. The staff did not allow early registration. The staff accepted my luggage in the morning.

Close to conference centre. No drinking water and no kettle. There was a coffee machine downstairs but the water dispenser or another machine was not working. Rooms ok. Good breakfast selection

Great location and reasonable price for what you get

On the plus side, this hotel has been refurbished in a modern style and is reasonably well equipped, although it lacks a bar or restaurant. However, the area around there is very well served by restaurants, cafés and bars and the hotel is directly in front of the casino and gardens, and so is excellently located. Additionally, the hotel has a lower level open air car park secured by a gate that you access with a code. What lets this hotel down mainly is the pool quality of staff at the reception. It wasn’t clear whether they were poorly trained or just didn’t care but the service that they offered was very poor. For instance, the instructions on how to utilise the electronic safe in the room was inadequate. When I asked the reception staff for help the only response I got was that they didn’t know what to do either as the safes were relatively new. That’s really not an excuse! Also, although the room was equipped with cups and a kettle, pods were required and had to be paid for, with a dispenser machine located in reception. However, when I asked them to break a €10 note so I could get change for the machine, unbelievably they said they didn’t have any change. It’s things like this, and the absence of any towel hooks in the bathroom or any kind of entrance to the lower level car park (you have to walk around the building and go through the gate like the cars do) the stops this being what I would rate to be a good hotel. These things are easily remedied but I haven’t been

The shower stall was utterly ridiculous!!! Narrow that I could barely get in or out (room 213) totally unusable glad to send you a pic. Another frustrating item was the parking structure I had to help 3 people park their cars . Will not stay again at this place.

Loved it here

breakfast buffet is very good, sausage, bread are delicious, parking is convenient. Good location, walk to ocean. The staff is friendly, provided early check-in for us. The only thing I don't like is no electric kettle provided.

We love, love, love this hotel. The views, from the balcony, of the casino, park, ocean, and sunrise (or sunset) are absolutely lovely from the third or fourth floors. We find the rooms to be spacious, and the location handy. It is a lovely 20-min stroll, along the boardwalk, to Cascais. We find the rooms to be spacious and well-maintained, and the staff willing to help. We will be back (again)...

A great location as we were attending a wedding. Decor needs updating but the hotel was absolutely fine for our stay. Breakfast was nice too.

Staff was fabtastic

Great location, very helpful staff. The hotel rooms are very old and not well maintained. Cleanliness was poor, bathroom plug holes full of hair and water wasnt draining through. The bathroom door was dirty and had hairs all over it. Not the best hotel for the price. Find an alternative if you can.

Arrived at hotel, greeted by very helpful, smart and friendly staff. Room was better than expected, large and roomy. I would certainly highly recommend this hotel.
