Love the aesthetic of the hotel and room. Breakfast and service was also good. Hotel location was perfect walking distance of the city Funchal

If I were rating the property by appearance only, it would be 5 stars. However, we did encounter issues during our stay that made our experience here less than ideal. We noticed a stain on the carpet near the shower during checkin but didn’t think much of it. While bathing that evening, the shower did not drain and would have flooded the room if we had not turned the water off. We notified the front desk of the issue. They responded a bit nonchalantly and said someone would be by to fix the issue tomorrow. We had been traveling and walking all day and needed a shower so we asked if there was an unoccupied room we could shower in. Initially, we were told no and that we would just have to wait until ours was fixed. After some insistence, the front desk finally made some calls and was given authorization to take us to an unoccupied room to shower. The next day, we left to explore Funchal. When we returned, sadly, the same person was working the desk. We asked if the issue was resolved and we were told that it was fixed and that the shower was operating properly. This turned out to not be true as the shower began to flood again during use and water reached the stain on the carpet and the room began to smell of mold and mildew very badly. We again addressed the issue with the front desk person who seemed as if they were annoyed by us like we were being unreasonable. Ultimately, they never fixed the drain and we had to deal with the bad smell for three day. Avoid room 102.

Such a lovely hotel. Rooms are very charming - modern but with character. Super clean. Best of all the staff went above and beyond without us even asking. We were checking out at 6am for an early flight, and staff packed us a to-go breakfast (breakfast usually opens 8am) without us even asking. Obrigada!

I can't say enough about our experience at this unique hotel. So friendly and accommodating. The free breakfast is the best and so fresh, walkable to everything, with a beautiful park in minutes. I absolutely recommend this place,

Beautiful and cute hotel

Lovely hotel in a perfect location for exploring Funchal. The staff were friendly and welcoming and our room was large, stylishly decorated and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

This is a wonderful cozy hotel with great staff and foood.

Great location, friendly staff, modern clean rooms, healthy a la carte breakfast options. Only feedback would be on breakfast times. Currently starting at 8am which feels quite late for us early risers. 7am would have been better.

The location was was very good. The staff was extremely helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The room was spacious enough but was getting a little worn. The only thing I really did not like was the bathroom door. It was an opaque plexiglass, I think, and it did not close well so it therefore did not provide much privacy.

Not a big fan of the bare concrete decor or of the open bathroom but otherwise we loved this hotel. Room was well-equipped and there was a great view from the narrow roof terrace. Staff on reception were very helpful. Breakfasts were freshly made from high quality ingredients - particularly liked the Caju Bowl. Location was great

The hotel is lovely. Rooms are a good size with walk in showers. Rooms cleaned daily and housekeeper checks each day that all is well. Food, staff, service all excellent. Hotel situated in a quiet are but only about five minutes to the seafront. Great transport links.

Second time stay. This year the service and breakfast seemed to have marginally regressed. The hotel is well placed on the edge of the old town. The rooms are of a good quality.
