ibis Setubal

I really liked the people who worked here. Especially housekeeping, they were always so kind in the hallways. Front desk is also kind as well. Really great people. I will be honest and say that I did not like the carpet in the room rooms. It felt a little dirty… I don’t think it was any part of the housekeeping. It’s just having carpet overtime gets gross. The hotel is away from the main areas of Setúbal that I was planning on visiting, but there’s a bus stop nearby, and Bolt services (which if you live in the US is basically just like Uber.) the restaurant nearby is pretty good too for traditional Portuguese food and drink. Plus there is a good football game on, and it was fun to watch people get excited about the teams. The breakfast is pretty good at the hotel, too. even though it was pretty average, regarding the hotel itself. ibis is a brand that’s trying and true, for having a decent enough accommodations.

The reception, buffet/restaurant areas are super modern, the hallways and all the up until the room door are excellent. However the bedrooms need updating asap. There is no water, coffee facility, there is only soap available, hairdryer and phone in the room. The condition of the walls, ceilings, carpet needs some work as it looks so dated. The bathroom was modernised but the walls showed humidity on the bottom and I even found a spider in the sink one morning.

Staff was very friendly and helpful and the bed was very comfortable. The room was a bit small and access to the washroom was awkward.

IBIS = basic accommodation, food is overpriced, didn't bother to eat at the hotel as there are so many better places to spend your money. Bed was NOT comfortable and lumpy

The staff was very good - let us check in early. No in-room coffee - 3 euros for a tea. Reported very dirty floor and smelly bed on check-out but don't think they were going to act on it. Feral cats annoying. Pricey for what it was.

It was a bit far from the centre, but not too expensive to taxi into Setabul, the pool area was really drab but that is probably because of Covid restrictions. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful

Great outdoors space, with a pool and sitting area. Possibly the best Ibis I've stayed in. Rooms were what you'd expect at Ibis. Also lots of on-site free parking!

I could not be more happier with the Ibis Hotel on the outskirts of Setubal. I did not have a car BUT a bus stop and reliable taxi service meant coming and going was a breeze. The swimming pool was very popular. The breakfast spread was outstanding as was the level of service I received. Highly Recommended.

Very good value

Hotel good, location poor, too far out of town. Not easy to find, I had 2 Satnav’s and still could not find the entrance even though I could see the hotel.

Room kind of smelled. Even after turning on the AC, the smell just got worse. Maybe just some nice ventilation would have made the night much better. Also I’m pretty short, but I can easilyyy touch the ceiling in the shower. The shower is raised, compared to the other parts of the bathroom, so if you are around 6 feet tall, it may be a little uncomfortable. Staff was nice though : )

There is nothing immediately outside the hotel except a cafe across the road. However this cafe is family run and serves typical Portuguese style food at very reasonable prices. Hotel Ibis only provides prepackaged meals unfortunately. About 15 mins walk down the road is an Intermarche supermarket and another 10 minutes further is the Allegro Shopping complex. Along the way there are quite a few restaurants. The hotels looks like it has been recently renovated and displays trendy decor. There is no lift in this hotel but if you have a lot of luggage perhaps request one of the many rooms on the ground floor. The room had a single wardrobe and adequate space for luggage storage. The bed was very comfortable with great pillows and the bathroom was compact but acceptable with nicely done shower unit. We did not have issues with any of the staff who were pleasant and courteous. Breakfast buffet is available for $6.90 which appeared attractive but we did not have any. The Wifi and aircon were excellent. A lot of English TV channels which was great. Lots of free parking available within the hotel grounds. Great swimming pool. A good value hotel. No surprises. Would definitely stay again.

New feel to the hotel, friendly staff, very clean room and bathroom. A nice range of food for breakfast. We sat and had a nice drink in the bar, reasonably priced but we would like some ciders please!
