This is one of the best bed and breakfasts I have ever stayed in. Immediately greeted with coffee or tea in the courtyard with the lemon tree and given friendly recommendations for dining and activities. They were excellent recommendations. The rooms are adorable and very clean and breakfast is generous and served on the patio with eggs to order. The staff stand out as friendly and accommodating. The only thing is I wouldn’t travel with anyone you aren’t very comfortable with as the bathroom sliding door is clear but mottled.

My husband and I, and our daughter and son-in-law all loved our Lemon Tree Stay. What a perfect ending to our visit to Portugal! Everything about the Lemon Tree Stay was perfect and delightful starting with the staff, Vasco and Rachel, who gave us a wonderful and very warm welcome. Vasco offered us coffee or tea and a delicious piece of freshly baked orange cake when we arrived. He also provided us with a map and spent time giving us great ideas of places to visit and to eat. Rachel, who arrived in the afternoon was just as welcoming and friendly. The smell of the delicious orange cake she was baking for the next morning drifted all the way up to the outdoor rooftop terrace where we sat before leaving for dinner. The courtyard with the beautiful lemon tree and seating areas was like a little paradise, as were the two roof top terraces. The room we booked was small, but was spotless and well appointed with a super comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and a wonderful shower. Because we had to leave before breakfast, Rachel left us bagged breakfasts with sandwiches and orange cake, and even coffee cups and saucers for each of us so we could eat before our shuttle arrived.

This B&B is fantastic! Spotless room and common areas, delicious breakfast (included) and well located for walking to old town as well as to shopping areas, bus and train stations. Best part is the lovely staff. A special thanks to Rachel, Caro and Marinha for their wonderful restaurant and walking suggestions.

Don’t be deceived by the outside this is a hidden gem tucked away. Pleasantly surprised by this place. The Lemon Tree Hotel is really cool — beautifully laid out, quirky, and full of great atmosphere. It’s clearly been thoughtfully renovated and feels fresh while still having character. Above all, the service stood out. Carol, who checked us in, was incredibly kind and welcoming. We had to leave before breakfast hours, and without hesitation she insisted on preparing a packed breakfast for us to take along. Such a thoughtful touch and genuinely lovely hospitality. Highly recommended.

I had two nights stay at Lemon Tree. The location is convenient, about 15 minutes walk from the train station and less than 10 minutes walk to the old town. The property looks exactly as pictures, nicely decorated and well maintained. I love all the plants and the lemon tree there. I stayed at the second floor with a private balcony. Love it so much. The staff are so welcome and friendly. They asked about my check in time in advance and had my room ready when I got there. Staff made good recommendations on restaurants in town and I really enjoyed the food while I visited 2 of those restaurants. Breakfast was delicious and healthy. On my last day I had to catch an early train to Lisbon which was earlier than the normal breakfast time. However, they made me a sandwich to go and it was so thoughtful of them. My experience staying at this B&B was pleasant and it was certainly better than staying at a hotel. A few notes to consider: there is no elevator in the property, if you want to stay at the second floor, I recommend not to bring a large suitcase. Pack lightly! The neighborhood tends to get some noise at night, dog barks, loud motorcycle, and people chatting out loud outside the property. However, this is nothing Lemon Tree can do. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would highly recommend Lemon Tree Stay to anyone visiting Faro.

I would have rated this property excellent, but for a couple of room equipment issues. However, overall this is a great place to stay and I will stay here again. The room safe didn't work (they tried to fix it). The blackout blinds went off track half-way through and they could not repair it. The Internet strength dropped off in the evening, which affected my ability to do business in the US that was 5 hours behind. Those are the negatives. As I said, overall this is a GREAT place to stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. It is a very cute place and breakfast was good. I loved being able to go to the kitchen and use it whenever I wished. I felt very safe staying there and even though the room safe didn't work, I had no problem leaving my valuables in the room. It is a GREAT location, close to everything. You are a 1 minute walk from Rua de Santo Antonio, which is a main street for shopping and restaurants and takes you down to the marina and all the activities there. You are a 15 minute walk from everything you wish to see in central Faro. They gave out a free Faro map which was very useful. It is next to a police station and a lot of shopping and restaurants. It is a 5-minute Uber ride from the train station. As I explained above, if it wasn't for the room issues, I would rate this excellent. I will be back to Faro and I will stay here again.

Quite quirky but charming. Very helpful staff. Central but not in a noisy area of town. Some rooms have only a frosted glass screen between bedroom and bathroom, which I guess some guests might find a little too intimate. The shared kitchen is available to use, except at breakfast, so you can make drinks etc. The big fridge for drinks etc was awaiting repair - hopefully fixed by now.
