Clearly management made a bad decision, trying to blame the poor maintenance on COVID-19. I considered the lies for only 1 night (had 5 booked) and quickly moved my family to the competition just up the coast. Bran-Brad-Bega should be labeled a 2-star hotel at best. Everything about it reminded me of trips to Romania in the early 90s. Sad situations were then blamed on fallout from the revolution; now some Romanians are trying to leverage COVID-19 to mask their incompetence!

It's our second year coming to this hotel, there are things to improve, but all in all it's a good option. The location of the hotel is great, close to the beach and the tourist shops. It is also clean, but though it's 4 stars, the sheets and towels aren't changed daily. Not all rooms have a balcony. Those that do face the pool and the seaside. The staff is friendly and I can't remember having a request that wasn't addressed as soon as possible. The pool is nice, it also has a Jacuzzi and kids pool. The food is good as well, nothing fancy, but fresh. The one thing that is annoying is the WiFi. The signal isn't strong enough to reach throughout the hotel. On the upper floors you can't get a signal most of the times, so if you want to use it, it usually means going down to the lobby, or at least the first floor.

It is a pity that a hotel with a good infrastructure is insufficiently cleaned and taken cared of. We received a lovely spacious apartment (after booking a double room for 2 adults and 1-year toddler) which was quite well equipped but was not very clean, there was dust on the furniture and on the sofa/carpets. The shower-tub was leaking and even if we notified the reception, the problem was not fixed during our stay. The apartment has no balcony, but it is not a problem if you are not staying for too long. Also, be aware that they don't offer all the facilities they advertise. In our case they told us (on the phone, prior to our arriving) that they have a baby chair at the restaurant, but they didn't and we couldn't use the spa facility, as it was during the weekend and it was closed, although on their website they say that it is available everyday, weekend included. Otherwise, the apartment was comfortable and the stay in the hotel was ok.

Pros: We stayed at Bran. The superior apartments we booked have large balconies facing the pool. The pool area was rather quiet, it closes at dark. We could see the sea shore at the right of building in front of us. The breakfast buffet offered had a great selection of drinks, eggs, cold cuts, salads, bacon, jam and butter and more. They also offer lunch and dinner at an extra cost. Cons: the superior apartment we booked for 2 adults+ 2 kids had the pull out bed not opened at the time we arrived(11 pm) although we called ahead and let them know that we'll arrive late and we were very tired. The pull out bed had no sheets on , I had to open it and went to the reception and tell the lady to send somebody upstairs. The maid was waiting at the reception and she just simply said that she knew about the missing sheets but she was about to bring them in moments!!! The seals around the shower tub were peeled off thus the water was flooding the washroom every time we took showers...which means many times since we went on the beach/pool twice a day. We asked for extra towels to soak in the water. The AC unit in the main bedroom was not working on the night we arrived. They fixed it next day. Reasonably priced for a tourist but not affordable for a couple of Romanian friends, although we offer to help out. They found accommodation in a neighboring villa for half the price.
