good hotel but defo not a 4 star you should ask for a room with no ll inclusive restaurant incredibly slow - we ate in two hours due to long service hotels quite old i dont think it will get 4 star again probs a 3 star - this should be 60 euros a night not more

Staff was super friendly and helpful

We were greeted by friendly staff and welcome drinks. Overall decor is dated however, the stay was pleasant with clean rooms and a nice outdoor pool, great for a swim after a hike. We tried dinner at the hotel restaurant which was alright but choose to eat out in local restaurants, would recommend booking as was busy at the weekends. Only feedback was that reception opens at 7am so you can't check-out earlier however, we didn't at the time realise this so didn't advise the staff of our intention.

Overall we enjoyed our 2 night stay at the hotel. Very impressive scenery all around and only a short walk from the town centre. Disappointed when we arrived to be told we had to wait to check in as it turned out that less than a quarter of the hotel was actually occupied. A bit of flexibility after a 14 hour journey from the UK and a hazardous drive up the 200 bend Cilaos road would have been appreciated. Really nice breakfast and beautifully appointed lounge area of the hotel. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel was in a nice location. Had all the amenities at the hotel and close enough to the center of the village for more restaurants selection. Very comfortable hotel and good customer service.

Big, clean rooms. Heaters near the bed. No,A/C but don't really need it. Staff incredibly helpful restaurant is great and chef is very personable. 5-10 min walk to the center of town, including trail head to Ancien Thermes. 20 min walk to trail head for Roche. Would highly recommend for a stay in Cilaos!

This hotel was a lovely retreat in the midst of the mountains after a long day driving around the island. Hotel staff was very helpful, room was spacious and clean, a little piece of luxury for "ordinary" people like us. Unfortunately we arrived so late and only stayed one night so we didn't get a chance to enjoy the swimming pool as it was getting a bit chilly already, but the bathtub in the room was a nice surprise and if we hadn't travelled with a toddler and been so tired that we just simply crashed after a dinner and a bath, we surely would have taken advantage of the spa amenities (hot tub, etc) the hotel offered as well. Strongly recommend this hotel to anyone whose not intimidated by the lengthy drive through winding and narrow mountain roads, Road to Cilaos is worth it, truly amazing views along the way!

We arrived 10am, few hours before official check in, but hotel staff allowed us to get into our room and were very helpful and friendly. Hotel is only 5min walk from town , lake and local market. Definitely would recommend Sunday market in Cilaos , it is small , but vibrant and you can try some local specialities . Hotel has a very nice restaurant - great food!

Cilaos is one of the most amasing places to visit. Le Cilaos Hotel still needs to boost in order to have the same feedback - however the basis is there. The best out of it is the location and staff - friendly and accomodating. We stayed as a family with 13 y/o and 5 y/o. WiFi did not work for all 7 days we stayed. Breakfasts were very moderate for 4 star but the worst part came on the check out when we were asked to pay 12 Euro per adult and 8 euro per child for each day for breakfast, when we were sure that it was included in the rate. SPA area is very thoughtful when you spend a day of climbing and canyoning. Lobby area is super cosy. So, all that needs to be done is to work out on kitchen, think on a better package for the Families, and be proactive with fixing the problems.

Great hotel. The rooms are very very clean and quite spacious. Its a good place to stay specially if you have children, as they can play in the pool while you read a book or take a drink in the bar of the hotel. The staff is just amazing, always smiling and ready to help.

Our stay at Le Cilaos was wonderful. Nothing short of it. Upon arrival we were given a drink and snack while we waited for our paperwork to be processed. Unnecessary but a nice touch. We really wanted to explore Reunion despite the fact that our French is terrible and pretty much non-existent. I cannot blame anyone for being annoyed with us the entire time we were in Reunion. The staff at the hotel was extremely patient with us though and got creative with ways to make sure we understood everything. Even when we asked odd questions about hikes, driving routes, etc. WAY beyond what I expected and such a relief after the struggles of the rest of the trip (again - self imposed as you can't get mad at people being frustrated that you don't speak their language lol). The hotel is only a 10-12 minute from the 'center' of town. I saw some other reviews which made it seem like some strenuous hike...it is not. And it is actually quite pleasant to walk around the little lake and see the houses. Even though it is close to the town center it is still extremely quiet. We paid a little more for this hotel than other places I found online...but one look at Le Cilaos compared to the other places in town and you will not regret the choice.

Probably the nicest hotel in town. Pictures do not do it justice. Friendly staff, good location, and nice restaurant.

Un hôtel avec un gentil personnel, une chambre très propre et un super potentiel. Nous avons trouvé que ce n’était pas à la hauteur d’un 4 étoiles mais la gentillesse du staff à tout rattraper
