Loved staying here! Everyone was so friendly and it was a little slice of paradise. The beach was pristine and loved staying in the traditional fale. Food with the family each day was big portions and fresh and different each day. Would recommend to anyone wanting a down to earth, quiet and beautiful spot.

Such a wonderful experience! Absolutley beautiful beach front fale and the experience of living like a local. Lovely tropical breakfast included and amazing beach to snorkel in. Not for luxurious hotel lovers but perfect for the adventurous traveller seeking culture and experiences.

What a beautiful location. Easy check-in, beach fale clean, bedding was comfortable. Booked for one night, wish it was longer though. Bathroom and showers easy to get to. Suggest maybe have some hanging hooks to hang clothes up. Dinner for 6 and was just the right amount. Breakfast was lite - love the pancakes! My only suggestion would be the strings to tie up the shutters were easier to find - that was a sweat sesh alone ha ha ha... Overall loved it and hoping to return.

We booked for 9 nights but stayed only 3. Staying in a fale on the beach at faofao became intolerable without respite from the relentless pounding of the ocean on the reef especially at night. Swimming or just sitting in the water to escape the heat was impossible with the tide almost reaching the fale. No TV at all and no Internet access in the fale. Internet also turned off. Obliged to sit in uncomfortable eating area for Internet access. No respite from bright security lights. Toilet bowl cracked, had to ask for toilet paper and no attempt made to clean the showers. Same orange paper in middle shower. Roaming cats and dogs. My husband was attacked by a black and tan dog at the toilets. Faofao is in the middle of nowhere and tourists are charged exorbitant rates for transport like 250 tala from the airport. We specially drove there before our stay to find out what we needed to bring and fortunately took canned food, water and soft drinks. Although the very oily breakfast is included in the price dinner would have cost 35 tala per person. This place is unwelcoming and unfriendly and the environment leaves a lot to be desired. My sincere regret is that the booking was non refundable.

Beautiful beach fales south east of Upolu. The fales are authentic and really comfortable. The shared facilities are really good. The owners and staff are all really welcoming and look after you, the food they provide for breakfast and dinner is delicious. Dinner was 35WST per person per night but worth it for the amount of food you get. There is also a bar in the main dinner hut which they open earlier in the evening so that you can get a drink and enjoy it on the beach. The beach itself is really clean, the water is super clear, and there's some ok snorkelling if you go a little bit further out - the coral is slowly regenerating but there's lots of fish. They'll give you snorkels too if you need. If you walk further along the beach west, you'll get to see the sunset fully. We stayed 2 nights but could have easily spent a week here. After driving around the whole island, it's definitely one of the best spots and nicest beaches!

This was an absolutely fantastic experience. Staying in a traditional Samoan fale was awesome and the Legalo family made me feel like one of their own and the rest of the village was similarly hospitable. If you want a taste of what real life in Samoa is like, this is for you. Be sure to check out To Sua Ocean Trench and Lalomanu Beach and get plenty of time in at the bar and in the water. Salepaga is where time stands still in the best way possible. Shout out and massive thanks to Tapu, Tua, Ata, Afa, Paei, Saia, AJ, Talent and everyone else who made this an unforgettable experience.

A beautiful location with lovely hosts. They were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was very good as well. If you want to truly experience Samoa this is the way to do it instead of staying in a resort. I wish I could’ve stayed there for longer. It’s definitely somewhere I plan on going back to.

Faofao fales on Saleapaga beach is run by Koroesta & her family. It has large tiled dining room/social eating place separate to the hut/bar with seaviews. This is the best location if you like a quieter beach with snorkeling straight out front better than 😉Paolo Deep. My friend saw a turtle so I hope it remains protected from plastic getting into water, as we all know this kills turtles. It is also not too far from Lalomanu & some main attractions - particularly closer to To Sua Trench. The Faofao fale experience is just like camping but well protected with mosquito net & although my ol'body couldn't do much more than 2 nights on a thin mattress with hard floor - you won't get a real Faa'a Samoan experience unless you experience local fale, right ON the beach. Food is very good(local small buffet style) - I was able to eat fish every night. Breakfast included, dinner 35WST p.p but If you book directly, get better rates - find email on fbk. Yes it's best to wear your flipflops in bathrooms, shower is cold tap up high but it's 27-29degrees out! Recognized it for what it is - true local style; your sleeping high above, but on a beach. Wake up to Sunrise! Waves WILL sound loud in still of night- Bring earplugs if that bothers you. Tip: ask for fale furtherest from bar. Unfortunately the new fale is the closest As in all of Upolu, roadside rubbish is terrible. Any family owned fale that makes an effort to pickup around their area will greatly improve their guests stay.
