Simple accommodation literally on the beach. The fales allow privacy as required, with multiple 'walls' allowing height adjustment. This also works well for controlling the temperature of the room. Be aware there is no outlet for use in the fales (but apparently there were other locations you could use).
Bathroom facilities are rustic, but clean and well maintained/stocked.
Ear protection recommended - the surf is loud, and there is a road immediately behind the fales (albeit lightly travelled).

This accom is simple and exactly what you need to enjoy the natural beuaty around you. Staying in a traditional fale by the beach was wonderful. The ammenities are well stoked and easily accessible. Complimentary breakfast was bountiful and a lovely way to start the day. The owner is friendly and can recommend fun things to do nearby. The fale are mae out of natural materials and well maintained. bedding and mosquito net was very comfortable we didnt get bit at all! I def recommend this accommodation, in my opinion they are worth more than what you pay

Everyone was lovely and we loved our fale we were staying in. Unfortunately it was quite rainy when we were there so we wish we'd booked to stay longer. There's a beautiful coral reef for snorkelling and I even spotted a few turtles.

We really enjoyed our stay with this local family in the Fao Fao fales. Beautiful beach out the front, nice rustic bar and dining area overlooking the water and reef. Seems like snorkling off beach would be good (we didnt get time to) and lots of attractions close by.

the only good thing about the place is that it was on the beach , the breakfast was okay only. the rest of the place was the pits , run down , dirty, inadequate, not maintained. if i had seen the place before i paid the high price for it, i would not have booked in or stayed their. EXPEDIA have got a lot to answer for.

We booked for 9 nights but stayed only 3.
Staying in a fale on the beach at faofao became intolerable without respite from the relentless pounding of the ocean on the reef especially at night. Swimming or just sitting in the water to escape the heat was impossible with the tide almost reaching the fale. No TV at all and no Internet access in the fale. Internet also turned off. Obliged to sit in uncomfortable eating area for Internet access. No respite from bright security lights. Toilet bowl cracked, had to ask for toilet paper and no attempt made to clean the showers. Same orange paper in middle shower. Roaming cats and dogs. My husband was attacked by a black and tan dog at the toilets. Faofao is in the middle of nowhere and tourists are charged exorbitant rates for transport like 250 tala from the airport. We specially drove there before our stay to find out what we needed to bring and fortunately took canned food,water and soft drinks. Although the very oily breakfast is included in the price dinner would have cost 35 tala per person. This place is unwelcoming and unfriendly and the environment leaves a lot to be desired. My sincere regret is that the booking was non refundable.

Loved staying here! Everyone was so friendly and it was a little slice of paradise. The beach was pristine and loved staying in the traditional fale. Food with the family each day was big portions and fresh and different each day. Would recommend to anyone wanting a down to earth, quiet and beautiful spot.

Such a wonderful experience! Absolutley beautiful beach front fale and the experience of living like a local. Lovely tropical breakfast included and amazing beach to snorkel in. Not for luxurious hotel lovers but perfect for the adventurous traveller seeking culture and experiences.

What a beautiful location. Easy check-in, beach fale clean, bedding was comfortable. Booked for one night, wish it was longer though.
Bathroom and showers easy to get to. Suggest maybe have some hanging hooks to hang clothes up.
Dinner for 6 and was just the right amount. Breakfast was lite - love the pancakes!
My only suggestion would be the strings to tie up the shutters were easier to find - that was a sweat sesh alone ha ha ha...
Overall loved it and hoping to return.

Owners were lovely, other guests were very friendly. Had a nice atmosphere. Room had quite a lot of bugs and quite run down but still comfortable. Free breakfast was good and 35 tala dinner was also good. There was no wifi at all despite the listing saying you could pay for wifi

Beautiful beach fales south east of Upolu. The fales are authentic and really comfortable. The shared facilities are really good. The owners and staff are all really welcoming and look after you, the food they provide for breakfast and dinner is delicious. Dinner was 35WST per person per night but worth it for the amount of food you get. There is also a bar in the main dinner hut which they open earlier in the evening so that you can get a drink and enjoy it on the beach. The beach itself is really clean, the water is super clear, and there's some ok snorkelling if you go a little bit further out - the coral is slowly regenerating but there's lots of fish. They'll give you snorkels too if you need. If you walk further along the beach west, you'll get to see the sunset fully. We stayed 2 nights but could have easily spent a week here. After driving around the whole island, it's definitely one of the best spots and nicest beaches!

This was an absolutely fantastic experience. Staying in a traditional Samoan fale was awesome and the Legalo family made me feel like one of their own and the rest of the village was similarly hospitable.
If you want a taste of what real life in Samoa is like, this is for you. Be sure to check out To Sua Ocean Trench and Lalomanu Beach and get plenty of time in at the bar and in the water. Salepaga is where time stands still in the best way possible.
Shout out and massive thanks to Tapu, Tua, Ata, Afa, Paei, Saia, AJ, Talent and everyone else who made this an unforgettable experience.

Sleeping in the fale on the beach and listening to the ocean sound was an absolute trip highlight.
The owner and her family were so friendly and welcoming.
The meals were plentiful and delicious.
We would definitely recommend this place.
