Sofitel Al Khobar The Corniche

This hotel was absolutely amazing, first time in Saudi Arabia, they made me feel at home, I stayed from December 23rd through the 26th in room 519. Amazing view, the best fine dining I’ve experienced in a long time. Breakfast and dinner buffets were more than amazing, I really enjoyed the spa experience as well. Everyone there made me feel valued and appreciated. I will be returning within the next couple of days.

Old rooms, old hotel, doesn’t feel like a five star one

great hotel, nice environment, close proximity to Ajdan Walk, great staff and nice rooms with nice views.

Wanted to relax by myself after a long week of work travel and meetings. Chose the Sofitel based on location and the view on the water. It didn’t disappoint on the view, but on everything else, it was sub par. The room smelled funny. I asked for an air freshener. A dude showed up with one of those industrial spray bottles. The smell got way worse. The hotel condition is old.. and you can see it almost everywhere. The furniture. The finishing. The technology (or lack thereof). I can’t say I’ve stayed at a Sofitel before (or any of the Accor hotels) and based on this stay, I probably won’t do it again. I don’t recommend this hotel.

The hotel room was good with the sea view, with a good bathroom. The only problem was, there should be a tool to wipe water from the floor instead of asking room service every time. The parking was very small so that was an issue, other than that everything else was amazing.

I arrived early at 1:30 PM, but my room wasn’t ready. After going for lunch and returning at 3:30 PM, the room was still unavailable. It was a mistake booking this hotel during the holiday period, as it was clearly understaffed—especially housekeeping, causing significant delays. Checked in 90 minutes past the official time. The room is in good condition but could be better. The check-in process was slow, with a 15-minute wait at reception due to a lack of staff. The team was doing their best but simply couldn’t keep up. The lobby was overcrowded, resembling an airport lounge, making the experience stressful. Another major downside is that there’s no direct access to the shoreline. The surrounding area is full of construction, making it not walkable, especially for families with kids. Despite the delays and inconvenience, no compensation was offered, with the excuse being the holiday rush. To make matters worse, the hotel was also hosting a conference, further straining its capacity.

Everything was great except for the room service. The food was late and disappointing. We ordered the pastry basket and cheese platter. The pastries were stale and far from fresh and the cheese platter offered limited choices and was poorly presented.

As usual great experience and helpful staff.

Nice sea view

This hotel is excellent. The only reason why we gave 3 star for ”Overall rating” and “Staff & service” is one person (we wanted to give one star but it would be unfair to other staff). The lady at the front desk during check in was by far the most disrespectful person we have ever dealt with in any hotel. It was very sad that just one person negatively affected our experience in such a beautiful hotel. Despite that, we enjoyed our stay and we look forward to visiting this hotel in the presence of respectful welcoming human beings.

No airport pickup was arranged even though it was requested and indicated on hotels.com. No hard pillows, it was also requested on the notes and at the hotel.

Nice Sea view

My stay at Sofitel Al Khobar was subpar. Not only did I not receive the hard pillow I requested, but there was also no toothbrush in the room, which is a basic amenity. The view from my room was dismal, possibly the worst I've encountered in any hotel. Additionally, the hotel feels outdated and in need of renovation. To top it off, my Accor loyalty points were not added, which further added to my disappointment. Overall, my experience fell short of expectations.

Hotel has aged. Rooms are filthy. View is good. Breakfast is good.
