This property was just extra special, planning to come back to Scotland in 2027 and this will be where we book. The property is a little confusing but that is part of the charm. Everyone that we encountered was beyond friendly and helpful and just wonderful. We stayed in the room that has the little bed nook along with the king bedroom and was PERFECT for our family. The room was so spacious and the beds were beyond comfortable! The kitchenette was so nice although we only used for coffee. Lastly the restaurant was incredible and the food and coffees were perfect. We even went back on our last day for lunch even though we had already checked out because it was good.

One of our favorite stays during our trip. The room was so spacious and the bed was really comfortable. Our room was on the ground floor and overlooked a courtyard between two closes so I thought we’d get a lot of noise but we didn’t. We loved how close it was to everything, and the price was super reasonable. We paid to have breakfast included which was a good call because I thought the food was great.

Perfect for the first time tourist in Edinburgh! Unique property located in the heart of everything. Loved the location, staff, restaurant, bar. Certainly recommending Cheval Old Town Chambers for anyone who visits Edinburgh and wants to be in an elevated but not stuffy, safe, clean, centrally located hotel.

This property is in between Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace along the Royal Mile. It is steeped in history and has the most amazing pubs and restaurants in and around the multiple levels of narrow walkways , stairs, and winding streets. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The view was amazing!

Right in front of the St Giles church a short work to the Edinburgh Castle, 5 mins from the train station and new town. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

This was a lovely property right on the heart of the Royal Mile. The staff was excellent and very helpful. The beds were comfortable. The only problem was the washer/dryer in our room left our clothes smelling burnt, but that is the only downside-otherwise wonderful stay! Would definitely stay again

This hotel is chic, elegant, warm and cozy - the perfect place to come home to after a day of walking. And walk you will because the location, steps away from Edinburgh Castle on the Royal Mile, cannot be beat. Our room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable and having our own kitchenette allowed us to take our time in the mornings. Cannot recommend this gem enough.

A lovely property right on the Royal Mile. Excellent in every way. They forgot to clean our room one day and sent an apology note and wine. Comfy bed, very uncomfy sofa bed (maybe they would have given us a bed pad had they known we were using the sofa bed). Convenient location, lots of stairs and hills (throughout Edinburgh) so minimize luggage if possible. The best place we stayed on our UK trip. Well worth the cost. Tips: the stove top has a safety feature where it only heats up if it feels the weight of a pot on it. Robes were tricky to find in the room, but they were there.

We loved staying on one of the closes-Advocate. It was quiet and secluded. Direct access to the royal mile across from St Giles. Would definitely stay again.
