The food was excellent particularly for a Seafood fanatic. The only thing the chef should consider is adding a seafood soup. Everything else is 5 star.

We booked this hotel specifically for the private spa. Ideally it would be a little more private but it was a lovely experience overall.

Lace panties on the radiator and lumpy bed. We've stayed at this hotel before and it's a great location. Disappointed that the advertised Hot Tub was £50 per couple! That's not how it used to be. Then we found the knickers in the radiator. Clean presumably and left to dry? Who knows. Sadly to top it all was that the bed was lumpy! All in all there are good things about this hotel. Great view, staff were friendly but for the price it's not hitting the mark.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, lots of conversation and humour. The food was good, we tried a few different options. The avocado and poached egg on sourdough was delicious and the pastries were fresh and so good. We had a classic double room on the ground floor. Plenty of space for the 2 of us, the shower was fab and toiletries were very refreshing. We had the best 2 nights sleep. The bed was huge and very comfy. The tea, coffee, hot chocolate and goodies were a perfect treat with 2 days of travelling and exploring. What a view while we enjoyed our drinks from the bar. Oban was such a lovely place and we wouldn't hesitate to book here again on return.

Property fine, staff generally good. Expensive. Room had marks all over floor ( needs vax) parking facilities poor. £4.50 for 1/2 cup of coffee is not good value. Rooms are too full of chairs etc , not required. Obviously throw to back of hotel to make room for Americans so they spend more .

The lift was not functioning but stay did bring bags to the room. A challenge with older hotel infrastructure is that many many step are required to get to a room. No lift meant 40 steps up and 40 steps down.

It was comfortable and the dinner and breakfast was lovely. We had a dog and while the hotel was welcoming, our room was a very long way from the exit and also very small to accommodate a dog crate. Parking at the hotel is non existent unless you pay £20 per night for valet parking, which for a 4* hotel is unacceptable. In addition, the check-in process was painfully slow. Only one person on the desk and dozens of visitors waiting. The restaurant staff were mostly very nice, but some were quirky and over-familiar. Not a great impression for a 4* hotel. There is an amateurish feel about the Oban Bay Hotel. It trades on its seafront position along with many other similar mid-range hotels aspiring to 4* and falling short. It might have been once- not any more.
