Room accommodations were lovely. Clean and neat as a pin. Full of old world charm, with all the necessary new world stuff as well. Dinners were well prepared and presented, as well as delicious! Note: We were there on Burns Night, so many specialties to choose from. Complimentary breakfast was presented well, and prepared well. My mini Scottish breakfast was soooo good! All the staff were nice, down to earth folks, ready to help and serve. Falkland hospitality, through and through. We had a fine stay.

Lovely hotel. Great staff and breakfast. Has a lovely bar also. The rooms are clean and comfortable but could do with a deep clean especially around window frames and shower. These had mould around them. The bathroom radiator was really rusty and needs replacing

Check in was a little tense. No one on reception so asked one of the staff from the bar to check us in. Despite pre-paying in full, she insistent we were to pay an extra £86! Advised us that the rooms are expensive and we'd not paid enough. I said that was the price I was given, and showed receipt. This went on for 5 mins. In the end she asked if we wanted to speak to someone more senior, who advised someone hadn't wrote in the book we had already paid. Still was mortified. Driven 5hrs, tired and so embarrassed as I felt that I was being accused of underpaying.

I stayed in the Outlander room which is cosy as fairly small. Room was a bit too warm, would have liked a fan. The room is directly over the bar area so it was quite loud with music and voices til past 10 o clock, even on a Monday night. It is all street parking, which is fine if you arrive after 5pm as otherwise quite tricky to find a space with all the tourists. Staff were all very friendly.

This was such a beautiful cottage hotel. The food was excellent. I had the best macaroni and cheese I've ever had. The village has more shopping than you'd expect. It's definitely worth the short drive off the beaten path. And of course it's a filming location for Outlander which makes it extra special.

Excellent experience staying at The Covenanter for one night. We booked a deluxe room and stayed in the 'Queens Room' that is at the front of the hotel opposite Falkland Palace. Along with the 'Cameron Room' it's accessed via a separate entrance at the front of the hotel. This is a very old building so the plumbing etc is quite noisy and we could hear the music below us (albeit not that loud) from the bar. Everything was very clean and the shower was excellent, with shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided. An extra portable heater in the room compensates for slightly draughty windows (again given age of the property, this is not a surprise). We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Decent menu (pub food, but with daily specials) and reasonable prices. High point was breakfast which was one of the best we've had in a small hotel. Usual continental options and a range of cooked choices. I had an omelette that was excellent and my husband had the full Scottish which was outstanding - generous portions and perfectly cooked. We were also able to park for free just across the street from the hotel. Would definitely recommend and Falkland is beautiful.

Falkland is a beautiful Scottish village. The hotel is on the main street. There are a few coffee shops nearby. There is a great deli next to the hotel & the lady who runs it was so accommodating. She even warmed up the food we bought, which was delicious, supplied plates & cutlery. Service with a smile.
