The location is wonderful, genuinely great spot. The soaps etc in the shower are weirdly good which I appreciated. The place is a bit run-down (makes sense for a high volume / high turnover space). The shower wouldn't close neatly and due to design meant a constant flooding risk. There is a timer for the room lighting and aircon that turns off automatically, no chance of getting any control of the room temp. There is a fridge in the room which is ok but has a sign saying no food or medication to be stored (as it wasn't super cold I guess). I was in a basement room which was fine but the noise from I assume upstairs was next level. Hours of dragging and scraping and I assume moving furniture post breakfast etc. It was genuinely ridiculous, I suggest asking for a higher floor. Breakfast was hotel passable but probably not worth the cost. There is no attempt to direct the hoardes of people checking in or waiting for buses daily so it was often hard to navigate in and out. It's fine if you get a good rate and you're OK with all of these points.

No water or coffee amenities, no bathroom light when you're trying to navigate in the night time without waking everyone up and the air con cut our half way through the night. Stayed at more budget hotels with better quality and services, very expensive for what it is.

First stay in a Yotel and will probably be my last, they wanted £20 for an early check in, regardless if your room was ready or not. Then tea and coffee was only available from the bar area and we were on the 6th floor, no water or tea and coffee amenities in the room. The bed was reclining and noisy. Although comfortable to sleep on, carpets on the corridor areas looked like they needed a clean, Room and towels were clean would say this is a 3 star at a push

The Yotel was clean and the staff was extremely helpful. The room itself was smaller than I expected but that’s on me. The only problem I had was that Edinburgh was having a bit of a heatwave which was too much for their air conditioning. It was simply too hot to get a good nights rest.

The room was very basic, modular. No literature about the hotel facilities or where to go in Edinburgh. The shower leaked into the toilet cubicle and into the bathroom area. For privacy the blind had to be down - overlooked a courtyard as did many rooms - the floor to ceiling window was in the bathroom area, so no natural light and the lighting in the bedroom was just bedside lamps. There was separate lighting in the bathroom. There was a sign in the room that said if we didn't get our room serviced during our stay we would get £5.00 credit off food or drink in the hotel during our stay. I booked breakfast for the second morning, when I was paying I mentioned the £5.00 credit and was told it was for use in the bar only. It does not say this on the card we had hung on the door so I believe the discount should have been applied. The hotel was situated in a nice area away from the hustle and bustle of Princes Street but only a few minutes walk from there and the train station. I wouldn't choose to stay at this hotel again. There is nowhere to sit and relax in the bedroom after a busy day sightseeing. On arrival I was greeted by Rita/Vita, she was wonderful but I didn't see her again.

We had to call 3 different times about the air con not working in our room. The first call we were told it would be fixed within 15 minutes. This was never resolved. Had to call back after an hour. The air worked for maybe 30 minutes then off again. The 3rd call came at 04:30. Yet again the air only worked for a few moments. Very disappointing especially as expensive as the room was for one night. I would not recommend using this hotel.
