Every part of the stay was amazing. I had an issue with mosquitoes on day 1, but I sprayed my room with Deet and the problem was resolved. I highly recommend this hotel and will be staying there again the next time I'm in Senegal.

Pros: This place is amazing! So beautiful and so many beautiful places to capture photos of your stay! The staff was impressive and always friendly and very helpful! The breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever seen offered at a resort for free! It was honestly an absolute pleasure to stay here! Cons:The rooms are a bit dated but the potential is there, bathrooms need a serious upgrade but they are cleaned daily. A few unwelcome guests but it is a tropical resort directly on the beach. The showers did not heat up but it was hot so cool showers were welcomed but it would’ve been nice to have warmer water to bath in. But as you can see they are small enough not to disrupt the experience! This hotel is a must stay! They made me feel so comfortable that I honestly didn’t want to leave! Thank you Savana and Senegal for bringing so much joy to our lives! WE WILL NEVER FORGET! @goreeisland…

One of the more disappointing hotels I've booked in my life, especially considering the cost. The grounds are maintained well and looks very nice as you are taken to your room, but that's the extent. The rooms are extremely dated, with stains in carpet and furniture. It was kind of clean, I guess. The location of the hotel isn't even great. It's at least a 20 min walk to restaurants. I read other reviews regarding the onsite restaurant and didn't even attempt it. Im sure there are many other hotels nearby that would be a better choice than this.

This is a truly horrible hotel. I don't remember having written a hotel review before despite having visited around 60 countries. It appeared there was some pretty unsavoury stuff happening with a young woman arriving, being asked to hand in her passport at the desk and then clearly meeting a man she didn't know to go in to one of the bedrooms. The people were unfriendly and unhelpful, it was filthy, there was mould on the wall in the bedroom and the bathroom. The restaurant was really low quality, the shop was like going into a largely empty junk shop in someones living room. I left after 3 hours because the vibe was so off and booked into another far nicer and much cheaper hotel.

I have visited Dakar on a number of occasions and had always wanted to spend more time along this beautiful corniche with its views of the ocean and Gorée island in the distance. The Hotel Jardin Savana more than met my expectations with its gracious and helpful staff, spacious rooms and well maintained furnishings. The design of the building seems to mimic the architecture of the slave fort at Gorée, which was alarming. But it really is quite grand and beautiful with large circular exterior staircases. My room had a balcony overlooking the large Olympic sized swimming pool and the ocean just beyond it. The room amenities (soap, shampoo, bath gel) are modest but sufficient. There was an espresso machine in the room. The daily room cleaning, with fresh towels and sheets, was very much appreciated. And the air conditioning worked well. The somewhat weak link was the food at the two hotel restaurants. Though they both have spectacular views, the quality of food and the preparation was less than I had hoped for. There are very good restaurants nearby with better prepared food, similar views and excellent service. That said, I would happily return to the Hotel Jardin Savana.

The worst experience! I can’t believe I paid that much. On the first day of arrival they couldn’t find my reservation. Waited awhile in lobby. I paid for sea view and they didn’t have it then they did. Woke up at 2am or so with bugs all over me my bed, net and floor. Bitten on face and body. Nightmare as seen in movies. To add to it biggest cockroach! Phone to reception not working. Had to walk to reception in night clothes. When the bellboy moved me, he acknowledged, I know I know the problem Madame. Can you believe it, they knew and they put me there. Long story short no apology from reception finally after several tries found manager who offered meal vouchers $15 or so, not even one night! Will add pictures.
