We arrived a day late because of our reservation mistake but the receptionist was overly kind and helpful in correcting our error and getting us quickly checked in to our room. We can’t say enough about the room and the great view of the Danube River from it. This is our second time staying here and we will return.

Although the hotel is built in a much older style - the refurbishment from military barracks dates from 2006. However, it all looks impressive wherever you go from reception to the terrace. The staff generally spoke good English, and were exceptionally helpful which was a great bonus as we were on a mission to find out about life in Novi Sad in the 1920s and thirties. The room was not huge, but the bed was, and the facilities were fine - wi-fi, phone, tv, bathroom with shower, and jacuzzi features. The room was hot. The central heating had been replaced with a/c and an additional electric oil radiator, but was fine. Generally the food was good, with huge portions. Our first evening meal was a bit of a shock as we adjusted to local cooking styles, We learned to ask more questions thereafter: it was our fault rather than the hotel's. Parking was convenient and camera monitored 24 hours a day. Facilities around the hotel were also fine with museums, tunnel visits etc, other restaurants, tourist style shops etc and the general cache of a huge hilltop fortress dating to the 1700s. The location gives a fine view over the river and the town, and also means that there is a 15 min walk to and from the city centre. It's ok if you're fit or have transport, but this has to be considered. There are taxi services to and from the hotel. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a city break.

Small room, really not easy to work in. But hotel staff was incredibly helpful, great restaurants just outside the door with an amazing view of Novi Sad across the river. There are restaurants in the hotel and I didn't get to them as I was on a short trip and tried the ones next to the restaurant - literally about 200 ft. away there are four restaurants which are very good. Free parking is a big plus if you have a car. Serbian cities have enacted some wide spread parking rules on streets for fees. This has ample parking, great staff, and a very good breakfast from full English to German to Continental, and if you do it on your reservation you can get the breakfast included.

It was a great hotel in a magical setting. I spent a night here after getting engaged to my girlfriend. The only disappointment was I paid for the room with a hot tub and it didn’t work! Reception could not help because they had never used it. Other than that the staff were great and we really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was excellent and so was the food in the restaurant. It was a welcome change of pace from the other very busy bars and cafes plus the hotel was none smoking (except for the small bar downstairs). Great views over the river, I would definitely stay here again.

This was our first visit to Novi Sad, and the Hotel Leopold I made it a fantastic stay. It's proximity provided easy driving access to sites like Fruska Gora, vineyard tours, and monastery tours. The view from the hotel is fantastic as it looks down on the Danube. The staff is top rated. They are friendly and helpful. I can not compliment them enough. There are 3 restaurants within walking distance but the hotel restaurant makes them unnecessary. The breakfast they provide is also fantastic.

A nice historic hotel right at the fortress. Impressive decor in common areas. The Superior room with king bed was rather small but fairly comfortable. Couldn't start the window AC so had to open the window, which wasn't a big deal - had to do this as the heater was on upon my arrival and the room was much too hot and dry. Breakfast was a la carte and there were no other guests. Service during breakfast was not too friendly and without a smile. Reception and especially the doorman were excellent and deserve a big thank you.

I stayed there only 3 nights and I wish it was much longer than that. The hotel is beutifully restored and it reflects the charm of the early 18th century. My room had an amazing view of the Danube river and the city. The walls of the fortress are almost one meter thick and the rooms a silent like an audio studio.
