Very comfortable stay in a nice location. I enjoyed it and could see myself purchasing a vacation home there eventually.

Nice location, for two days was a perfect choice.

Room is nice, overlooking the new castle. Brekfast was very good. Same about the hotel's restaurant, where we ate two dinners. Must improve the bathroom (room 31).

Breakfast not included in room price. Tables for sitting at breakfast was not prepared.

A four star hotel - the bathroom door is broken, there is not even a mirror in the room. The elevator goes up to the third floor, but we had our room on the fourth; meaning we had to carry our heavy luggages ourselves, nobody even offered any help. We had to ask at the reception to change our towels, even then we didn't get new soap and toilet paper.

Le "grand" Matej a perdu de sa grandeur. Malgré un bon emplacement et un accueil agréable, un sérieux rafraîchissement de l ensemble serait bienvenu. Quant à la chambre, de très grande taille, elle laisse a désirer : miroir salle de bains fêlé, support douche cassé (impossible donc de prendre une douche digne de ce nom), barre et rideau de douche modèle suédois basique dont on se demande comment elle tient. Bref un peu déçu même si rand lit avec literie de qualité et baignoire géante.

The hotel was really good with the most central location possible. However, some really loud music from outside during the night made sleeping a challenge. The parking was quite narrow, so avoid bringing a big car.

The town is very charming and nice to visit. The hotel was comfortable but parking was limited and a bit difficult to arrange. The personnel were helpful in sorting this out.

Cool hotel in a super cool Slovakian town.

Nice hotel in a lovely area. The curtains doesn't cover the windows fully meaning it's light at 5 in the morning. Breakfast starts at 8 which is kind of late if you're there on business. Since we were 8 people needing breakfast at 6 they served it at 6 for us which was very nice and good service. The wifi wasn't enough. Hotel is located very nicely in Banska Stavnicia.

Pobyt nesplnil naše očakávania. Parkovať sa pri hoteli nedalo (málo parkovacích miest, cca 6 pre celý hotel), jedine v garáži a to za poplatok (8 eur na deň, pričom aj tá bola plne obsadená) - aj keď pri rezervácii bolo uvedené "parkovanie zdarma". Parkovali sme teda na ulici a to dosť ďaleko od hotela, samozrejme za poplatok. Služby dosť slabé - iným hosťom sme museli my spolu s recepčnou vynášať detskú postieľku, pretože na to personál v hoteli nie je postačujúci. Na raňajky sme si dali bábovku, ale po ochutnaní sme zistili, že je celá plesnivá (zelená chlpatá pleseň) - nevšimli sme si to, pretože nás ani nenapadlo niečo také na nej hľadať. Za zaplatené raňajky by sme čakali, že zamestnanci budú kontrolovať záruky potravín, ktoré servírujú (prinajmenšom aspoň na pozáručnom jedle sledovať stav vývoja plesne). Taktiež, ak sa hotel chváli statusom prvého "dog friendy" hotela, očakávali by sme, že pes nebude za príplatok 10eur, inak ide o štandardný hotel, kde je vstup psom povolený, nijak zvlášť "friendly", keďže ani raz nám izba nebola za pobyt uprataná len preto, že máme psíka a ani ten psík žiadnu extra službu nedostal - ani len vodu nemíňal. Hotel teda hodnotíme dosť slabo a určite sa neplánujeme vrátiť.

Das Hotel liegt mitten im Zentrum, für eine Besichtigung der Stadt eine ideale Lage. Es gibt aber nur sehr wenige hoteleigene Parkplätze. Wer zu spät kommt, muss irgendwo suchen, dass er zurechtkommt. Das Personal an der Rezeption spricht deutsch, die übrigen verfügen über beschränkte Kenntnisse in Englisch. Die Zimmer sind gut eingerichtet, relativ groß, sauber und mit allem Komfort. Klimaanlage fehlt aber. Das Restaurant bietet eine größere Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken. Die Qualität ist gut, vergleichsweise mit den Touristenrestaurant etwas teurer, dafür aber nette Lokalität, mit Terrasse in der Sonne. Empfehlenswert für einen stilvollen Aufenthalt.

I got a room at a very decent price, especially when you consider that this is a hotel in the very centre of a city (on the main street, you can hardly miss it!). All the main sights in Banska Stiavnica are nearby. The ladies at the reception and in the restaurant were very friendly. Nothing to complain about as to the restaurant - for some reason, the breakfast was a buffet on the first morning, and a la carte on the second one (excellent frankfurters!). My room on the fifth and last floor was comfortable but lacked any air conditioning - so it was pretty hot, with stiff air, being just under the roof in early June. I had to keep the window open all day to try to get some fresh air when I came back in the evening. I don't know about other rooms, but the direction should really do something in this respect. Please note that the elevator doesn't go further than the third floor. There is a car park up a ramp on the side of the hotel, but it's very small, so if you plan to use it you should probably arrive early! For this reason I was lucky that very few people seemed to stay at the hotel when I was there - I was almost always alone in the restaurant too.
