AM Lodge

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warm hospitality. Everyone was extremely warm and welcoming. The lodge was huge, beautifully decorated, whomever curated their guest’s experience deserves a standing ovation. The food was delicious, the game drive was fun and exciting. We highly recommend as the service and experience exceeded our expectations.

I cannot express how amazing this place was. I've been all over the world, and every aspect of the AM Lodge is by far the most superior. The unique daily game drives had our Bush Bar (best bar in South Africa, thanks to Benjamin and Penwey) interrupted by a Nyala being chased by a wild dog. Literally chasing Lions led to our fantastic guides helping another group get out of a ditch. Even seeing zebras and wild buffalo ended up being so hilarious, it brought tears to our eyes! For the millennials reading this, imagine the perfect mix between Steve Irwin and Wild Boyz. Shepherd is the definition of what a proper host looks like. We had a strange request of being shuttled to a nearby tattoo shop, and they happily obliged. Our chefs made amazing food, with our only request being to show us the local cuisine. That kota sandwich and African buffet was exactly what we were talking about! Way to deliver! At no point did I ever think I was anything less than royalty thanks to the amazing staff, treatment, and accomodations. I don't know how they managed to do it, but they also made it seem like me and my father were the only ones there! As if the entire safari grounds were just for us (even though, they obviously had other guests). I hope to have the chance to visit again. If any guest is considering a safari, the search ends here.

The Best Experience Ever! We Felt Like Royalty! AM Lodge totally blew us away. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly special. The place itself is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are super comfortable, beautifully designed, and tucked away in nature, which made it feel really peaceful and private. The safari was amazing!! It was personalized just for us, and our guides Sbu and Benjamin were so knowledgeable and fun. We got to see so many animals up close, and experienced some amazing sunrises and incredible sunsets. After the safari, we treated ourselves to a massage at the spa, and wow… it was heavenly. Super relaxing and exactly what we needed. The food deserves a huge shout-out too. Chef Anna is incredible! Every meal was delicious and beautifully presented. Honestly, some of the best food we’ve ever had while traveling. But the real star of the show was the service. Raydene and every single member of the team went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable. We’ve stayed in some great places before, but this was next level. If you’re thinking about booking a stay here…. do it. It’s worth every penny. We’ll never forget this experience!

I have not left a review for anything in a long time, but AM Lodge absolutley deserves a great review. I read a couple of previous reviews that made me hesitant, but the record needs to be set straight. I stayed Mar 14 - March 16 of 2025 and it could not have been a better experience. I was first greeted at checkin by Raydene, Chris, and Musa. They had a non alcoholic mixed drink ready and waiting for me, a hot towel, and Raydene began explaining the structure of the lodge. They honestly made me feel like roylaty, and I had never felt that before. Raydedne broke everything down and answered every question I had, even the stuff I had texted about before arrival. I later met Brandon, the chef of the lodge. Every meal he prepared was like it was hand made at a luxury 5-star restaurant. I honetly could not have asked for better food, and he even adjusts the menu based on pretty much anything you want. Later in the afternoon, it was time for my game drive. Chris walked me to my private lodge and from that moment on, was immediately available for anything I needed. The lodge itseld was a massive 1,615 sq ft building and I had it all to myself. It is so secluded and private that you are entirely in personal peace whether you are inside or outside of your building. I got a private game drive with driver Benjamin and our tracker Bali. Im only allowed 1500 characters so I had to delete the rest of my review. In short, I would absolutely stay here again and upgrade to the superior suite

I travel to so many places and this place has by far been my favorite. The staff are so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful time. The most unique thing about this place is that there's no menu. The staff will fix whatever you like which was amazing. The food was wonderful and the lodge was immaculate!

Prescilla, Origin, Jessica, Chris, Devot, Eurice, & Sk made our stay unforgettable! Everything was amazing from the home to the 5 star service! As a bonus we even got to see the big 5 but that was just a pleasant surprise to accompany the fantastic stay! 10s across the board for everyone who helped us.

Nothing special, front desk not friendly...and customer service doesn't exist

First of all the staff here is amazing, from Itu at the front desk to our awesome guides/ranger Jeffery and Grandpa, and the wait staff wants nothing more than for you to be happy! Everyone was so nice and accommodating. We stayed in the Superior for 7 days, we had 7 days of adventure. It was beautiful, exciting, lavish, and challenging at times. It is Africa and not the Crown Plaza. That is the reason we came here and we were rewarded with a lifetime of memories. You are away from the lodge and secluded which we loved. You do need a ride to the main lodge. The baboons love to come through in the morning and in the evening, we loved it every time! I miss everyone there, they treated us like family the entire time.

Beautiful room, essentially it’s a whole structure to yourself that includes an outdoor shower. Every meal was five stars. Every game drive was amazing. Every worker was beyond kind and welcoming. This is easily the nicest hotel/resort I have ever stayed at.

Amazing customer service. Treated like queens during our stay. Everything is taken care of for guests.

The game drive staff were so awesome. We were available to see a wide range of animals and scenery during our stay.

What I love the most is the game drives. We spotted all the big 5s plus Cheetah and many other animals. Other than the Am private reserve, they will also take you to Kruger for game drives. Amazing guide, Collen and Arnold. Everyone working in AM Lodge from receptionist, security, restaurant manager to chefs are kind, sincere and helpful. They took good care of us. Food is on average side. But you will not go hungry. It would be better if we can have more variety of drinks like fresh juices or some simple mocktails. Property looks beautiful but some furnitures are a little worn out. The outdoor deck at our lodge has ant nest and it is not being cleaned up. Rusty table on the outdoor deck. So we didn't really enjoy the outdoor deck as much.

This place and experience is amazing at all levels. The room was way better than expected and the safari experience couldn't be beat. I also can't say enough about the amazing service. Highly highly recommed this place.

I’m not sure where to begin....was it really real? Or was it a dream? Maybe you’re someone who only requires the best in everything, or maybe you’re someone who just says let’s go for it—AM Lodge is perhaps the best lodging I’ve ever had the good fortune to stay in. It must be in the top 3 lodges in all of Southern Africa. The service was excellent. From the staff in the restaurant, to the warm welcome of the receptionist, to the game drivers and massage therapists, we felt superbly pampered. We had one of the top massages we have ever received in my lifetime. And the food was excellent! What a chef! The rooms themselves were over the top luxurious, with romantic furnishings, outdoor game-viewing tree house, and an amazing outdoor shower. Our every wish was accommodated with smiles, and endless South African charm. Oh—and did I mention the game viewing? Our guide, and tracker were unstoppable! Two cheetahs, 3 rhinos (+ baby rhino), ostriches, zebras, giraffe, hyenas, buffalo, kudu, nyala, Genet, plus a myriad of other antelope were all in the first 24 hours. Then in the next two days we saw two male lions patrolling at night, and over 50 elephants walking, eating, frolicking in the water, UNBELIEVABLE! Amazing stay overall!

We stayed at the AM lodge for 2 nights for our honeymoon and only wished we stayed longer. Don’t even know where to start, but our experience from the minute we entered the resort grounds to the minute we got dropped off at the airport was amazing. Staff is friendly and attentive to details, foods was ridiculously good. The hotel has private villas which are located far away from one another so you get an absolute privacy. The villa was super big, very cleanly and nicely decorated- loved the princess bed and outdoor shower. You can see the empallas and playing monkeys through the bathroom window. The villa is located in the wild park area, so you can’t walk around by yourself. We heard lions roaring in the middle of the night around 100metres from our villa. They stay is all Inclusive which includes your all meals and drinks, 2 safari rides per day and airport transfers. Would definitely stay here again!!

I always dreamed with a Safari, but the idea of sleeping in the middle of the bush stopped me for a while. Nevertheless, AM Lodge was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Here is some of the things that made our week out of this world: 1) During the flight my husband got food poisoning. He started feeling bad before we arrived to the lodge. Sadly, during the first night he got worse and we decided to go to the hospital. At 4:00am we called the reception and Lerato from the front desk took us to the nearest hospital and stayed with us 6 hours!!! She was making sure all the procedures were correct, bought the medicine requested by the doctor, and was constantly making sure that my husband was doing ok (not only that day but the entire week!) 2) Gaming experience: We were extremely happy to have Collin and Albert during our Safari. This two guys are awesome! In the first day, we saw all big 5!!!!! We saw lions every day, and sometimes they were pretty close. Albert and Collin really understood animal behavior, which made our game drives absolutely awesome and safe! 3) Dinning: The lodge makes sure you always have food you like. We are vegetarians, and we never felt the need of ask special food. They were always asking if the menu was aligned to our expectations. Also, the Lodge was full of surprises. One night we had a romantic dinner on our room (without even asking for it) and the last night, they did a bbq (with veggie options) for all the people at the lodge. AMAZING EXPERIENCE

They make you feel special. The food is great, you get 3 different choices at every meal. The "games" or safaris are twice a day and the rangers are very professionals. The Spa is marvelous and accommodating to people itineraries. Over all, an extraordinary experience.
