La estadía fue buenísima porque la ubicación del hotel es privilegiada y el cuarto espacioso y con dos balcones. La única área para mejorar es la temperatura del aire acondicionado porque no enfriaba mucho. Aun así lo recomiendo porque lo mencionado y también por el buen trato recibido por los empleados del hotel.

We had a great stay at Hotel Ateneo. The location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of Madrid and walking distance to everything. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, and the room was clean, comfortable, and a solid value for the area. Being so central, there’s a bit of street noise at times, but nothing unexpected for Puerta del Sol. Overall, a very good stay and a hotel we’d happily return to.

The positives: The location was perfect. So much was easily walkable and if it wasn't, the metro, which was easily walkable in several directions, could get you there. The staff was great - always friendly and helpful. They were happy to bring us blankets when we needed them and always greeted is with a smile. The room had plenty of space for 3 adults. The beds were comfortable. Not so positive: While our room was spacious, it was lacking in others ways. The room had 1 desk & a luggage rack, but no other surfaces. No other racks could be provided. So with 3 adults in the room, some of us had to work out of suitcases open on the floor. Not ideal. Also our room (including bathroom) was in the eaves, so we had to walk around hunched over most of the time. Each of us hit our head on the angled ceiling at least once. Even though we were on the top floor, the noise from outside was present thru the night. (How does anyone believe it is okay to bellow and yell at 3 or 4am??) 3 words: Bring. Your. Earplugs. There was no coffee in the room, nor was any offered in the lobby. Sure, you could pay to buy the buffet breakfast, but unless you wanted to do that, there was no coffee nor any hot water for tea, other than from the tap. And most displeasing (especially paying north of 250€ per night), was the mold around the edge of the shower (and the clean but clingy shower curtain). If I were staying in a hostel, perhaps I wouldn't be surprised. But here, I was surprised.

Wonderfully located 3 star hotel in the center of Madrid in between Sol and Gran Via metro stations. The hotel is clean with modern amenities. The bathroom is modern with excellent shower and bathtub. There can be noise in the middle of the night especially on the weekends. I highly recommend this hotel. It is safe, comfortable and convenient.

Location was amazing! Walking distance (like 2-3min) to Gran Via to one side and Puerta del Sol to the other. Lots of shops and places to eat as soon as you walk out the door. Spacious room with mini fridge, spacious bathroom with all needed amenities. Bed was big, had a small balcony facing the main street - a bit noisy but it was not unbearable - we sleep all 4 nights without any issues! Would stay there again!
