Basic Hotel Doña Manuela

The hotel was clean. The location was central. The staff was very accommodating. The room met our needs. They have a lounge area where guests can make coffee, grab a fruit or a muffin, have some cereal and milk, or take a bottled drink on the go. It’s available from 7 am through most of the day. Things to consider: We were given a room on the first floor. The property is adjacent to a restaurant. We could hear all the clanging of dishes and people talking until the restaurant closed around 11 pm. The window shutters didn’t close in a snug manner so noise was more apparent. If we opened the windows, we were right above people as they ate. We could make out their conversations. This would be an issue for people who want to go to bed early or want to take advantage of the balcony. Suggestion for the property owners: Change the movable glass half-door on the tub. It serves no purpose as the water splashes onto the bathroom floor and results in a wet mess. We were there for 2 nights. We would stay again - just not on floor 1.

This hotel punched well above its 2 star weight. The room was atmospheric with beautiful long, shuttered windows and muslin curtains. A very comfortable bed with good bed linen. I’d actually booked a room with a terrace which wasn’t available but the receptionist acted in a very calm and professional manner and resolved the situation to an acceptable one and I was pleased with the room I got (probably too hot to sit on a terrace anyway).

We loved our stay here! The location is perfect - a 5-15 minute walk will get you to any main attraction. There is a complimentary snack & beverage station, which was a delightful little perk. Our bathroom was spacious and the shower was great! We loved the décor - very charming! The staff were helpful and friendly. This was a perfect hotel for a family on a budget!
