I stayed here for two nights. The hotel is directly opposite the bus station so extremely easy to get there from the airport, takes about 20 mins by bus for €2.90. The hostal was clean, modern, comfortable and quiet. The lady who checked me in was friendly and accomodation. The location is perfect for exploring the city and the prices are extremely reasonable. Will be my first choice for my next trip to Santander.

When we arrived the property did not have a record of our booking even though I had confirmation from lastminute.com.au on my phone. What happened here??! Also the outside shutter did not come down. This made our room very light as there were street lights on all night. We only saw the staff when we arrived.

Undoubtedly the worst hotel experience of my life. arrived at a non descript location that looked like an office block. I rang the night bell and had a door unlocked and made my way up to the second floor to be greeted by an elderly woman in a nightgown who spoke only Spanish. I speak no Spanish. There was no one else to talk to. She demanded I pay €50 and could not understand I paid online thru this site. She demanded to keep my passport. She was angry and demanded I leave when I refused. I said she could take a copy but not keep it. I have no problem dea what she was saying though I recognised "police". I could not persuade her that I booked online and already paid by credit card. She physically tried to kick me out of the room attempting to take my bag out. I tried to explain using a translation site on my iPad but she demanded the money and my passport. I begged her to find someone to speak with but she was very hostile and said there was no one. An hour later. Exhausted having arrived from bilboa and just needing to sleep I gave her €50 to let me stay. This episode took 2 hours. All happened in the room. I''m so angry it''s not funny. the experience has ruined my time in Santander. This hotel has no business being on this site. I. Would not even call it a hotel. She was rude and nasty and I'm completely distraught at being treated like a criminal. I got no sleep.

Stayed in Cabo Mayor for one night. The room was very good, had good internet, fridge, tea/coffee facilities, and a very modern bath. The location is very hand, just across the street from the train and bus stations. The stuff was very friendly and helpful (not sure if they speak much English though, used my basic Spanish). The checkout is quite late 12pm, plus they were happy for me to leave my luggage in the hotel, as my flight was not until 10 pm. I would highly recommend the place.
