Recently completed a leg of the Camino de Santiago, and stayed one night at Casa Roan. It was the high point of all the inns we stayed in on our trip. It is a collection of restored farm buildings, most 250 years old. Charming and quaint. The staff were exemplary. If you call them, they will pick you up wherever your day's hiking ends, and drop you off in the same spot the following morning. This is a family run operation, and all the staff were friendly, polite and thoroughly professional. The hotel restaurant is also superb, and we enjoyed one of the best meals of our Camino. Really can't recommend Casa Roan strongly enough.

This is a must stay! Very comfortable relaxing atmosphere, dinner choices were fresh, delicious and wow, so much food. Breakfast was perfect, not too heavy but still filling. We had no idea so many people stayed the same night because it was quiet. We look forward to going back. Beds were perfect.

A sanctuary in the rural part of northern Spain. Off the Santiago trail. We missed they had transfer between the trail and the hotel so we walked. But it was a magnificent trek to the place. The hotel is a peaceful little gem emerged in nature. Service couldn’t be better. Felt like coming home. Smiles and helpful people. Food probably the best we’ve had on the entire trail.

ground floor room was clean, and cool although it was hot outside. Access to terrace was great. nice little garden area. - Bed had a high footboard and was not very long for someone who is 1,83m tall (assume it was max 1,90m). Shower was so small (60x60cm?), couldn't bend down to pick up shampoo. very noisy room (wooden ceilings) as heard every step of someone walking through the room in room above. also wood worms made some noise during the night. there is nothing around the property other than nature and other private properties, thus only possible to eat in the Casa Roan. massage was unavailable and probably needed to be booked long in advance.

Wonderful, quiet property in a tiny hamlet in the countryside. 5 km outside Palace de Rei, best reached by car. Lovingly decorated, very comfortable, being there is a vacation itself!! Very friendly host and wonderful dinners in the big, rustic dining room.

Very hard to find. Ask a local to help. It's not in the Garmin. It's worth it when you do. Camino walkers pay 9 euro.

A little out of the way, but we had a car so simple enough to find - keep an eye for the white signs with arrows and hotel name. Make sure you stay and have their dinner - a local treat for sure. Very clean and comfy too.
