Booked this hotel as we were going to visit Sad Hill cemetery, the graveyard scene from the film the Good, the Bad and the Ugly Clint Eastwood western just 30 minutes drive away. Lovely warm welcome from the Spanish lady owner - little English spoken but it worked fine and she was so helpful. Room was great, free tea/coffee all day in the lobby - serve yourself. Honesty bar - serve yourself too. Breakfasts were first class continental with so much choice - cereals, fruit, bread and lots more. Lovely garden and terrace area and lots of parking off road - the hotel is circa 40 metres off a quiet road and stands alone. We were recommended the Galin restaurant in the old town centre just 10 minutes stroll away. It was first class - the menu del dia ( 3 courses) was very good value indeed and included both water and a bottle of Artlanza, the local red wine. My wife had the roast beef and I had the trout mains - everything including the service was perfect. We stayed 2 nights only at the hotel - we wish it had been much longer. Optimo y excelente sums it up. A gem not to be missed.

Very quaint town and rural landscape - lovely grounds. Great hosts -very accommodating -especially preparing breakfast. Loved the late dinner experience in the Corravibus plaza at night and then enjoying the drive and town of Santa Domingo and Burgos.

Overnight stay en-route from Santander To Cartagena. Very nice family run hotel. Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, good wi-fi. Excellent breakfast. They don't do evening meals but there are several eateries within the walls of the town. Unusually for Spain, they do free tea and coffee in the longe/terrace area. Town itself is interesting - old walls, towers, ancient buildings etc. and there are lots of places of interest locally. This was my second visit, and I'm sure to come back again

We loved everything about this hotel, the attention to detail is amazing and the place is attractively decorated and maintained scrupulously. The owner was very helpful with information about local sights and walks and the local fiesta that night. The continental breakfast was very good using lots of local produce and the all day free coffee and tea was a welcome touch. We had a wonderful view from our bedroom ,especially having a rustic balcony to enjoy the evening sun It is a gentle stroll into the village which has rightfully been awarded a place in "The prettiest villages in Spain" category. We have never seen so many cared-for ancient buildings in one town; all the narrow streets are a delight to wander round and there are several monumental buildings to visit plus a short path along the riverside .The surrounding countryside is very beautiful and it is worth visiting Lerma, San Miguel de Silos and the road through the gorge beyond.

Brilliant hotel that belies it's 2 star rating. I think it's family run Just outside the town, so nice and quiet, but only a short walk into the walled town with it's warren of cobbled streets and timber framed buildings. You can visit the interesting church and museum, or just wander the streets The hotel does not have a restaurant, but there are plenty to choose from in the town - only 5 mins away One possible downside is that the hotel is on 2 floors, but I don't think they have a lift Fantastic buffet breakfast, and, unusually for Spanish hotels, they offer free tea and coffee for guests in their lounge or out in the garden - on a help yourself basis I'll certainly stay here again - at 39 euros, breakfast included, you can't go wrong

My wife and I spent 4 days at Doña Sancha while driving and hiking through Burgos and a part of Soria provinces. The delightful setting just at the end of town, the colorful garden, the cleanliness of the hotel and particularly the outstanding service by Alberto and his family, made this trip an unforgettable one!

We have stayed in many guest houses/ hotels in Spain over the years and consider this to be the cleanest and one of the most friendly we have ever stayed in. For example, on our arrival late afternoon, I had a terrible headache with all the farmacia's closed , Carmen without hesitation went and got me some paracetamol, which enabled us to take the short walk to the beautiful medieval town. Although breakfast was basic, certainly adequate and kept us going until lunch. We would certainly stay there again.

We arrived by motorcycle & the hotel made us very welcome & even moved their car out of the garage so my bike was out of the rain. The room was lovey with a balcony that overlooked the front gardens. Also the staff gave us as much guidance as we wanted about the area & town as we asked for. Totally recommended.

Wonderful relaxing spot with a beautifully kept garden, spent a lovely afternoon relaxing in the hammock with a bottle of local wine. The room was the cleanest I've ever been in, and the hosts made every effort to make us feel welcome and point out the local attractions despite us not being able to speak a common language! The historic centre was a leisurely stroll up the road, and some of the scenes from Sergio Leone's spaghetti westerns were filmed up in the hills nearby.
