Hotel & Spa El Castell de Ciutat

This hotel is in a beautiful and quiet area. Our room was impeccable with a great view on the mountains. Our dinner at the hotel was excellent. Easy parking and very welcoming staff.

An absolutely wonderful find! Highly recommended for Mountain views and the service was excellent , from start to finish. Dinner in the terrace was well worth it! Swimming and jacuzzi were good. Highly recommend 👍

Everything here was fantastic, the staff were very friendly and the foods are very delicious, the taste of the food was new. They took a birthday cake for my wife:) she loved it so much

Notre séjour a été extraordinaire, nous reviendrons pour une nuit supplémentaire. L'hôtel est un ensemble complet ; la nourriture est superbe, le service du personnel est de première qualité, le spa est relaxant, les vues sont à couper le souffle. Honnêtement, nous recommandons vivement à tous ceux qui s'arrêtent dans la région ou dans les environs d'Andorre de réserver cet hôtel. Nous aimerions également remercier le personnel de la réception pour son aide lors de notre séjour et pour ses recommandations sur les endroits à visiter.

Wonderful location in the mountains within easy walk to town. Very close and easy drive for a day trip to Andora. Beautiful pool and wonderful steam room to enjoy after a day out touring . Staff couldn’t have been nicer or accommodating . Breakfast was excellent.

Enjoyed 2 nights. Positives: - Very friendly and helpful staff - Great location. The history of the hotel site is wonderful - The saunas were great - enjoyed the outside pool for a few hours. Great views from the pool deck - Room was a great size and nice view from the balcony. - Fantastic continental breakfast. Negatives: - Beds were far too firm for our liking. Of course, this is all in your personal preference but we had trouble getting comfortable. - The outdoor hot tubs were not “hot” during our stay and staff could not rectify the issue. Overall, this Would appear to be the best option in La Seu d’Urgell. Our understanding from the staff is that they have been open for about six months. There is some repairs to the roof ongoing, we heard nothing during our stay.

The grounds of the hotel are beautiful, and so are the views of the Pyrenees from the rooms. But, the best part of my stay was interacting with the wonderful people who worked at the hotel. The women at the front desk were friendly, knowledgable and professional. And the 2 managers that I met were the same. They gave me recommendations on where to stop on my way back to Lisbon and also made the hotel reservation for me! The staff was quick to help and did it with a smile. It was an excellent 3 nights and I would not hesitate to return.

We stayed all over Catalonia and this was our favourite hotel by far. The views are simply breathtaking, the outside pool and jacuzzi are wonderful, the rooms are spacious and staff couldn’t do more to help us! The views alone make this hotel wonderful value! We left feeling fully relaxed and plan to come back!

What a gem. The staff are excellent, the food is fantastic, the property full of pleasant surprises. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The owner couldn't do enough for us when we didn't want to leave the hotel for some food as the children were tired. They created some simple light food options for us to enjoy on the beautiful terrace. The pools were amazing, so clean and the views were spectacular.

We arrived at the hotel to find it was closed.Notice on the door saying closed until 15 Sept 2021. I rang the Hotels. com Gold Team expecting them to sort a credit for this booking and for them to find us another hotel in the vicinity. The person answering the phone couldn't help and said he'd put me through to their rebooking team. After 40 mins of listening to on hold music...the line disconnected. I began the process again. I explained to the person answering the phone that I just spent 40 mins waiting to speak to the rebooking team,they apologized and said they'd put me through straight away...40 mins later the phone disconnected. I tried again,this time I asked for the agent to cancel my booking and refund me so I could make other arrangements. The said they could cancel the booking but there would be no refund as the date for free cancellation had past! I repeated the hotel is closed and I shouldn't be charged for anything. I was told the only thing he could do was put me through to the rebooking team. And guess what the phone disconnected after 40 mins . Nearly 3 hours after arriving at a closed hotel . I gave up on the Hotels.com Gold Team and made my own arrangements. Once settled in an open hotel I tried to contact hotels.com again on their chat system. The system said it couldn't help and they'd put me through to someone who could. Three days later and after leaving my phone number I'm still waiting a response..perhaps this review will prompt a response!

A high-end hoteol, not in a modern style; rather, an older, classic style. Wood, furniture, carpet in the room, turn-dwn service in the evening - that kind of thing. Lovely! The staff were friendly and helpful - overall lovely!

We started our trip to Spain at El Castell de Ciutat. After a beautiful drive through the countryside, after landing in BCN, we were greeted by gracious staff, at the gorgeous hotel. We were jet lagged, but the hotel staff helped us orient to our new location with helpful advice and wonderful service. We had lunch in the hotel's restaurant, and were NOT disappointed. Delicious! Over the next three days we enjoyed the views, the food, the pool, and the surrounding towns. When we moved on to our next hotel, we couldn't help but be disappointed by comparison to El Castell de Ciutat! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

An absolutely beautiful hotel in a gorgeous position. Our only complaint was the uncomfortably hot bedroom. The staff were aware of the problem , and the manager personally apologised to every guest, what a lovely gesture ! We will definitely return.

The hotel is very old and needs badly a renovation. I would never come back, it was not what I was expecting. The staff at the reception were very kind. It's close to airport and there is nothing to do around that area of the city.

My stay here was a delight. All the staff we met were, without exception excellent. The rooms are very traditional in style but due to the location, it works well. The view from our bedroom was stunning. The hotel has everything that you need and as its small, it feels quiet and relaxing. The food is very good quality and not overly priced. Little touches everyday in the room such as home made biscuits and a decanter of port on our arrival made it extra special. The spa is good and has all the services you would expect. Overall, an excellent hotel that I would highly recommend.
