Hotel Alborán Algeciras

Stayed for 8 nights with two friends. The reception staff were very welcoming speaking both Spanish and English. The room was a good size for 3 people and the beds comfortable. The rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard. The water from the shower did seem to get onto the bathroom floor somehow but this is a minor gripe. The fridge and air conditioning in the room both worked and there is also tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a TV in the room with a number of Spanish speaking channels. There is a good size pool which is treated with salt rather than chlorine which is a bonus. Plenty of sunbeds and a good sized seating area. Drinks and food can be ordered from the bar. There is also a restaurant however I am unable to comment on the food as we ate out every day. The beach is a 20 minute walk away and buses are available directly outside the hotel. The town centre is also walkable however it is along a busy road. This is my second stay at Hotel Alboran and I would highly recommend it.

Due to COVID19 restriction and many people in transit, the conditions were not so perfect.

Friendly staff and excellent amenities. We stayed for 6 nights and were very pleased with the friendly staff. The outside pool area looked very nice. Unfortunately too cold to use it. Lots of comfortable lounge areas to relax. Would stay there again.

Amazing. Location wad excellent for Gibraltor and Cruise to Morrocco. Facility is very clean, eady to find. Has their own restaurant and cafeteria. The pool was perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. However, most of all is the attention of the staff. Front desk provided all necessary information for tours. Arranged our day tour to Morrocco, called taxis and even kept our ice frozen. They always asked how our day was. Even though this hotel is at a traffic circle it is very quiet and relaxing. Bus stop to Gibraltar border cost 2.40 euro. We had a great few days and would return. Thank you Hotel Alboran

Our stay was excellent. Upon arrival the gentleman on reception was welcoming informative and nothing too much trouble. The hotel is great and the staff friendly. Food very good in restaurant and cafeteria. The only two minor details,staying half board the daily menu had the same choice of main meal but different name but exactly the same and pork chops two consecutive nights. Buffet breakfast excellent but hot food cold and food warmer not switched on. When more bacon was brought out this was cold. Minor points but something management should take into account.

The staff were really great and gave much needed advice and suggestions. The rooms were large. Not a luxury hotel but comfortable.

Nice hotel with a pool but a little bit out of the downtown. Not possible to walk to town but we took a taxi and left the car parked there Simple breakfast . Nice staff, fair price

The hotel is clean, the beds are comfortable, and the location is good for exploring the area. However, the wifi is worthless. We were there for three nights and it never worked for more than 10 minutes before dropping with "no internet connection".

We had a wonderful stay, the food was delicious, the rooms very clean and spacious, awesome staff, very beautiful hotel.

Hotel in a very busy urban area but only a bus ride from the centre and the beach. We visited Ronda, Tanger Ville, Gibralter, Tarifa for whale watching and Castella De Frontera. Would have been easier with a car and the hotel offers free parking but very manageable without. Staff spoke very good English and were very attentive to our needs. Excellent restaurant and cafe, which was good as we were out of season for many Algeciras restaurants in the town. Bus stop outside of hotel will take you to the bus and train station in 10 minutes and the bus on the other side of the road will take you to Gibraltar in 30 minutes.Be warned though, the road is extremely busy and possibly hard to cross with small children. We managed to see everything we came to see using public transport. A dip in the fantastic hotel pool on return from our our adventures was brilliant.

totally stuffed up my book so ended up in a small no balcolony noisy part of hotel night 1 Swimming pool not accessible due to four functions so they fenced off the pool but told us they would let us in well I tried and the staff member redirected me to the fenced off area again on the wrong side. Belen on reception was extremely helpful but after noisy neighbours with a yelling dog to late at night and noisy function guests in the car park the whole concept of three nights to relax and work where done. She did get me the room I ordered and had my packed luggage delivered to that room for night 2 & 3. Guess what day 2 another set of functions, kids running around pool still fenced off. Not a lot in the area apart from a supermarket opposite and one small restaurant. Hotel Cafe bar staff too busy with function guests to offer good service. Cleaning staff spent most of their shift chatting to each other and would not move out of the way for guest movements. If a function is on virtually forget parking until say 11pm Dining room doesnt open until 8pm too late!

The hotel is very beautiful. Free parking right in front of the hotel (with lots of parking spaces). Room is clean and spacious. WiFi is super fast.

Even though the hotel is next to a busy road, it is surprisingly quiet inside, and very welcoming. We had a lunch of the day in the hotel restaurant, very reasonably priced and great food. Their cafe was equally nice too. Travelling in the winter, it wasn't as crowded, but the walls could tend to be a little thin for when a neighbour came home a little noisy. Again, staff all the more happy to assist. Overall, good value for money, and always nice to have free parking in Spain, which has become the bane of our lives while driving around - what to do with the car once you arrive!!
