Hotel Alda Avenida

There’s a Taco Bell nearby, huge plus. The location is nice and quiet.

The AC didn’t work. The room was stuffy and humid without the window open, then flies. No coffee for sale or gratis as you had to buy the whole breakfast that I didn’t want. One of the staff was very nice. The other two were indifferent and treated you as an interruption to their conversation. I liked having a tub. Conveniently located. The bed was comfortable. Poor lighting in the bath vanity. The room was dated. I had emailed the hotel before arrival requesting a double bed and upon arrival I asked why neither the email I sent over hotel.com or the email I sent directly using the Hotel‘s website was answered. The person at the reception who was very nice told me that they don’t answer emails about the beds because they don’t know What will be available up upon arrival. That’s fine. I understand that. But you answer all emails from your travelers and you tell them that. That is professional communication. Simply not answering any email is unacceptable.

The hotel is in a very convenient location to the historic downtown. The beds were comfortable, the shower was relaxing (just be careful getting in and out). We did not take advantage of the breakfast, but there is plenty of food nearby. All in all, a very nice stay.

Rooms were very basic. We couldn’t shower without splashing water outside the bathtub. Other than that I guess we got what we paid for.

Noisy room—street noise never ended. Also maid service removed all toilet paper, not sure why.

I left a couple of reviews on this hotel already. I love everything about it and will stay at the Regina the next time I come to Spain, which is quite often.

Travelling solo, 3 nights stay in Alda Avenida. Very clean and close to centre of Santiago. I should have liked tea/coffee making facilities in my room; also a cafe in the hotel (which used to exist). Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Clan and spacious. Staff was very helpful and accommodating.

Probably the worst bed I’ve ever slept in. Super narrow, short and hard mattress. This is an old hotel. Unfortunately I can’t recommend it based on comfort.

We were delighted with the hotel & how friendly & helpful all the staff were, assisting us with finding parking, storing our luggage prior to our arrival time, assisting us with a local map to find our way around Santiago & providing a spotless accommodation & delicious breakfast.
