I chose El Galeón due to it's proximity to town, as well as Playa Bajamar. Plus, it wanted to have free parking included and access to laundry facilities. Check-in was simple and incredibly fast. My room was ready when I arrived and it was in immaculate condition. I enjoyed dining on the extensive balcony with views out over the port. (I thought there would be alot of noise from the port, but there wasn't - probably one of the cleanest and quietest ports I've seen, given it's size) Sometimes I would walk out at night for meal in town, and this was easy, as it's a short walk. Other times I stayed in and prepared my own meals - which was easy once I figured out how to use the stove... I really have to say that El Galeón allowed me to have the relaxing holiday that I was looking for.

Our stay in this hotel was very pleasant. The staff were extremely helpful, the apartment was well laid-out and very clean. There were plenty of utensils for us to cook our own meals and the parking was very convenient. I would definitely recommend staying here and it's a good place for exploring the rest of this beautiful island.

I booked this ten months ago and requested high floor, balcony with a view, it was a belated Birthday for my partner. We arrived and the woman was tutting all time, no English, and no record of booking! So we were put on 3rd floor room 304 with awful view. We were told the solarium was closed due to weather but it was 28c out there and sunny! Whole place in dire need of reburshment. No air conditioning just fan in bedroom which was wobbly and noisy so scared to use. Could not open window due to traffic. Lounge stinking hot. Bed awfully uncomfortable, no sleep and bad Sciatica in morning. Had booked for two nights but could not bear another night. My partner is in process of trying to get a refund.

Apartment block on the edge of the town. Very clean and reasonably comfortable. The kitchenette had a hob, toaster and kettle but no microwave. Some cooking utensils and pans. Large sofa, dining table and chairs and two chairs and a small table on the balcony. The tv only had one English speaking channel CNN. There were no cushions for the wooden chairs which made them uncomfortable to sit in for any length of time. The view was of the port (container ships) and the roadway and faced north so there was little sun at any time of the day. There was a sun terrace on the roof which was comfortable with a number of sun loungers. The main drawback was that it was at the top of a hill, which was great going into town but a real pain going back, especially if you did it twice a day. There was a garage so no problem if you had a car. Overall it was very pleasant but not outstanding.

A good base in Santa Cruz - not luxurious but clean, spacious and with free parking. Shower was also great! The only issue we found was that reception was not always open when it's supposed to be, but maybe that was because of our stay being during Easter.

Really nice hotel! Only problem is that my room was south-facing and next to a road. Now it was still tolerably warm, but it might be too hot to sleep in during the hottest months of the year. But for the majority of the year (say from October to July) this would be a great hotel to stay in! I definitely recommend! Extra comment on the WiFi. It was better than in 90 % of hotels I have stayed in.

The staff at the apartments were welcoming and helpful. The apartment was clean and comfortable and reasonably well equipped for a 3 night stay. There was a large terraced area that was shared with the next door apartment but this was a raised area so there was little light in the apartment itself. Unfortunately the terrace overlooked the property next door which was derelict so not the most scenic view. The bedroom had a ceiling fan which was silent and effective in winter but I suspect it would get very hot in summer as there was no air-conditioning.

We needed a one night stay in Santa Cruz to catch a plane the next day and this was ideal. It is close to the historic center of the city as well as the highly interesting back streets. The kitchenette was well equipped and would merit a much longer stay.

We chose Galeon because it had good reviews and was near the port as we had an early ferry booked to la Gomera. It proved excellent in every way and we would use it again. La Palma is well served with buses and we were glad we had planned to use them as the roads need upgrading. Only 10 minutes walk from the hotel and they go all over the island into amazing places we would never have found. The people were very friendly and helpful. The only strage thing was that as we left at 3:30 am for the ferry we were told to leave the key on the desk and the front door would self lock after us. The front door did not self lock so leaving the hotel vulnerable.

We have just returned from a 7 day stay at El Galeon and have no hesitation in recommending it. On the hillside above Santa Cruz. it is an easy and pleasant walk down into the town for buses and other amenities. Our apartment was amazingly spacious with a generous kitchen area with fridge and ceramic hob, a well-furnished lounge containing a TV, comfortable sofa and coffee table. There was a dining table and chairs as well as solid patio furniture which could be taken out onto the patio through the glass doors. The view was stunning and rural and the sea and port could be seen from the corner of the balcony. The bed was very comfortable and there was loads of storage space in the way of drawers and hanging space. The bathroom area had an excellent shower over a sunken bath, large washbasin and separate WC with bidet. Everywhere was spotless and cleaned daily. Reception and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. We loved being able to enjoy an extensive breakfast buffet in the attractive dining room. Quiet and relaxing.

Huoneisto isohko ja yhdelle tilaa yllin kyllin. Pieni keittiö, mutta en laittanut ruokaa. Erikseen iso olohuone ja makuuhuone. Vuode iso yhdelle.
