We had a lovely stay in this hotel. I admit the rooms were very dated and needed repairs, so dont expect luxury. As for the location of this hotel it was fantastic. You could not get any closer to the beach and the outside bar area and seating area was very pretty with great beach views. This hotel is also situated by lots of shops and restaurants. We had a very enjoyable stay.

It was a pleasant stay and the food was good. The rooms are basic and noise was sometimes an issue but overall it was good. Some staff members couldn’t do enough including Loly, Eileen, Paola and dumi, would go again.

In general is a good Hotel

October 2023. Disgusting old rooms, breakfast was very mediocre but the restaurant was filthy, all cutlery and plates were dirty. Large physical key that is not safe in a fire as you have to lock yourself in and out the room from the inside with the key, housekeeping let themselves into our room half an hour before we checked out. Only stayed for one night and wish I hadn’t even stayed for that. Unknown red marks on the bedding and a cigarette burn hole, curtains look like they’ve not been changed since 2001, wall paper was peeling off, room smelt really bad, shower curtain was yellow and the shower sprayed all over the bathroom when you turned it on. Twisty hot and cold taps that drip all night in the bathroom and a pull knob on the wall for the toilet flush. My partner didn’t even shower here because the room just felt dirty. Walls were thin so we could hear other people, plus we were put in a room right by the lift so every time someone pressed the button we could hear it ding in our room. Additionally the hotel backs onto the train track so the noise of the train was extremely loud. Pool was in the shade all day and very small. Staff were friendly, none of the issues are their fault. Location was good as the hotel has a door that leads out onto the beach. Avoid at all costs, needs an renovation ASAP.

Super hotel and value for MONEY. Highly recomended

Check in was time consuming. The rooms are filthy. The best part about this trip was leaving. The beach is overcrowded and inundated peddlers. The AC broke and we were treated as if it was our fault. The AC, btw, really doesnt mean anything. Its just barely there circulation- no temp control. The bed might as well have been a sheet of plywood and the pillow was smelly. Do not book this hotel.

Disappointed in the room, bed was super hard and very uncomfortable. There was parties and music going on outside till 0300, couldn’t sleep much because of it. Wasn’t a 4 star hotel in my mind.

My 4th stay at Htop royal sun I will be back again in August 22. The hotel offers all I need, friendly staff, good food & the hotel is directly on the beach. The town has plenty of shops, bars & restaurants. Transfer is 35 minutes from girona airport in July 2022 it was 57 euro. I was the all inclusive option & it’s definitely value for money.

Overnight stay very comfortable. Old fashioned but clean. Morning receptionist very helpful, extremely good.

A former 4 star hotel that needs urgent refurbishment. The sea view room I paid for as on the website was a different photo. Most of the rooms are partial sea view. Very limited parking. No paid parking around and my car was broken into (don’t park on the road). Hotel is located in a very crowded beach.

Location is excellent and that's got to be the reason for staying here. Good value too. Service is slow to say the least but that's because the beach cafe is busy serving it's restaurant customers and often leaves all inclusive guests just standing there while they ignore you. Pool beds are the rigid plastic type, old fashioned and uncomfortable. Room smells overpoweringly of about 30 years of cigarette smoke and all the cleaning in the world wont get rid of that. But excellent location and value, good train service from both barcelona and girona airports make it very accessible at €5.50 one way.

Lovely position had sea and pool view from room. Plenty of areas to relax, pool, terrace,lounge. Beach is literally steps away and the sun beds and parasols are discounted for hotel guests. Great food choices every day. Unfortunately no tea or coffee making (no kettle) in rooms. There is a machine in bar where you serve yourself hot drinks. Would be good if they provided and enforced antibacterial gel on entering restaurant as all food is buffet service. We did have a great holiday.

The room is not comparable with a UK 4* hotel - but that’s okay because the service, food, cleanliness, facilities and location are great! The room is pretty standard: bed, wardrobe, TV, safe and shower room oh and an empty fridge. It was clean although in need of a refurb, nothing broken - just well worn! Right on the beach with a beach side bar, the sun beds on the beach are 3euros each for Htop guests which was great and towels are provided at reception (deposit needed). There was a good selection of drinks and food and as we were All inclusive it was great! We never had to wait for long at the bar and although the buffet was always busy we always got seated straight away - the food available was good, theme nights changed it up during the week with local cuisine being our preferred dish at dinner times. There is plenty to do away from the hotel and day trips can be booed at reception, we chose to go it alone to Barcelona and took the short walk to the train stop for the 1hr journey. A return ticket to barca was 10euros, bargain! Overall it was a good stay in a clean hotel on the beach with good food, service and location!

The food wasn’t that good the mattress wasn’t comfy it moves a lot .. You have to pay to get a wi fi I will never recommend it to any one of my friends

Hotel in great location but the all inclusive food left a lot to be desired and I would t return for that reason

Hotel uses a strange card system for all inclusive drinks. One card =1 glass, will only serve half pints and no more than two drinks at a time, so we couldn't get drinks for elderly relatives without multiple trips to the bar. Only local drinks included in all inclusive. Hotel clean and tidy but starting to look a bit dated. Excellent location right on the beach and half price sunbeds for hotel guests.
