Excellent Hotel and very friendly staff

Unfortunately we were unaware that works were going on outside the hotel, and had been for the last year. Paving renewals were coming towards the end when we got there but nevertheless there were large areas where blocks were missing and manholes had to be levelled. Noise was ongoing from about 8am due to blocks having to be cut to fill gaps. Obviously the hotel was not at fault as these works had to be completed, but I felt we should have been advised that these works were being done at the booking stage. We booked a table for 6 people one night, and invited 4 friends (also on there holidays, but staying elsewhere) to join us. 2 of the starters ordered were incorrectly sent from the kitchen, and the two recipients had to wait a further 10-15 minutes for their correct order. We then received the main meals, and sadly 4 out of the 6 were not very nice at all. They were both 2 for sharing Paella's which were well overcooked with the rice being almost dry. We presumed that was as a result of the starters being incorrect, and the time taken in cooking new starters. All in all not a very spectacular experience. Fortunately my wife and I had stayed at the La Fonda Hotel 2 times in previous years and new that the Hotel were much better than this, and not withstanding not informing us of the works being carried out around the Hotel we will give them a further chance to get back up to standard.

Very nice hotel with an amazing roof terrace great for relaxing at sunset with a bottle of wine. Rooms are very nice not your average benalmadena hotel room, large beds, dressing gowns thise sort of touches. Nice pool area only a few sunbeds. Location is away from coast but lovely typical streets with nice bars and restaurants

Excellent hotel in the Pueblo of Benalmádena

It was disappointing at first as it’s in the middle of a building site at the moment … but the rest was wonderful. Lovely room, great service, good breakfast and an amazing spa!!

There was a lot of construction going on while we visited. So, it was quite noisy and messy in the hotel. Our room was clean, but I think there must have been some recent renovation because it smelled quite a bit of paint. The staff were nice and the included breakfast was good. I recommend not staying on the first floor, however. The room was close to the restaurant, so that made sleeping difficult because of the noise. Also, one night there was a man having an argument with someone and we could hear everything. It persisted off and on until after midnight, at which point we called the front desk. To be fair, the noise stopped immediately, and we didn’t hear anything else for the rest of our stay. Parking was convenient but requires some technical driving skills getting into the garage and spaces.

Everything was good accept for the construction right outside the property. They also were doing some banging on walls for some reason way early in the mornings!

We had 2 nights at La Fonda and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is a beautiful old building that has recently been sympathetically renovated. Beautiful spacious bedroom with large en suite. The pool area, sun terrace and foyer are stunning. Good choice of hot and cold food for breakfast.

Love this hotel, it’s the second time I’ve stayed there and it won’t be my last ❤️

Beautifully building. Not suitable for disabled as there are some stairs Attractive restaurant. Food good. Only niggle was one glass of wine was a little small, but rectified on request.

What a lovely hotel. The room was lovely, very clean. The staff were very nice and couldn’t do enough to make our stay so good especially the chambermaids. The breakfast was very good. And we’d be happy to recommend this hotel to anybody it really is a nice hotel in a lovely little pueblo

What a find! In Benalmadena Pueblo. The old village is a delight. Quiet lots of restaurants and nice bars/easy link to Mijas and train station by bus. Too far if you want easy access to beach snd front - but we didn’t. The only downside is lack of bar but there’s loads nearby. Visitors must go to cafe below the hotel where the local Flamenco Chour practices. Cheap and hood food

A Gem, would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, friendly, beautiful place to stay. Exceptional breakfast, continental or cooked. Beautiful Spa facilities (well worth the extra cost). We cant wait to go back!
