Staying at the Melia Madrid Barajas overnight prior to my flight was an enjoyable experience in a well maintained hotel. The lobby area was very inviting for hotel guests to take time to plan their itinerary or just to take a break from activities. The pool was large and inviting and the seating area for lounging or relaxing was excellent. The restaurant bar area off the lobby was open and well appointed. All in all it was a lovely overnight stay.

I had a lovely stay at this hotel at the end of an incredible trip celebrating my 50th birthday. I was initially given a basic room, but when I asked about a nicer view, the front desk kindly upgraded me to a beautiful room overlooking the pool and gardens. It made my final day feel extra special, and I really appreciated their generosity. The location was excellent, and the complimentary airport shuttle was a key reason I chose the hotel—it was easy to arrange and made travel stress-free. I also enjoyed the surrounding neighborhood, with a nearby plaza offering great tapas within walking distance. The room had useful amenities, especially the garment steamer, which was very convenient before my flight. My only disappointment was that the pool doesn’t open until 11:30 a.m., which made it difficult to enjoy an early swim before heading to the airport. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. The service, location, shuttle, and comfortable accommodations made for a memorable stay, and I would happily return.
