The stay was really nice and the staff were super friendly. I got a good deal because of the off-season stay, but the rain did dampen the fun. But haveing a non crowded hotel was great as well :)

A lovely warm welcome from the staff at Anilana -beautiful pool and clean beach area ,poolside rooms spacious and fabulous bathroom. Delicious buffet breakfast with a great variety of Sr Lankan and Western choices. You will need to let them know if you want alcohol with your meals as they do not have a bar on site -staff were very accomodating and nothing was too much trouble.

We enjoyed our stay, the staff were particularly helpful and friendly. The property is located a little distance away from from any shops or other restaurants, but TukTuks are readily available and the food on site is good. There was no alcohol available at all which wasn't advertised or communicated before we arrived, but that seems to be common at present in Sri Lanka generally, we could buy from the shops in Trinco and bring it back if required.

Unfortunately hotel is nothing what is displayed on the photos. The facilities are very old and poorly maintained. Inside the rooms the air conditioner vents are full of mold. The bathroom and the beach towels have several holes, worn out and some have some large stains (not sure if they were even washed). Hotel services are very overpriced, they take advantage of the tourists for the restaurant prices since there are not many restaurants nearby.

Management heads are very rude and they charged extra after we booked and paid. They didn’t ajust with anything. But the service boys did a good job they were very helpful. Also the guy called Fiaz at the front desk was good.

Great hotel and the most stunning location you can dream for, rooms stunning and large although sea view is actually partial sea view due to trees. Breakfast buffet is good but evening very average. Internet access is terrible worst we have had in Sri Lanka. Limited sun beds. Staff are totally amazing cannot do enough to help and oh did I say how amazing the location is, the beach is one of the best I have been to. Try to book mid week as there appeared to be less children then.

We loved our relaxing time here. Staff were very friendly. Room was very comfortable although outlook could have been nicer (we had a garden view room with not much garden to view!). We were a family of 5 so had two rooms next to each other. Only improvement could be that housekeeping come to make beds earlier in the day. They always came at about 5-5.30pm which we didn't like. Breaky was great and heaps of food to choose from. Pool and lounge area was lovely. We ate a the hotel a couple of nights and had the lovely buffet dinner. Not close to any other restaurants (need to drive there) Beach and water was devine. Would definitely recommend a visit.

An amazing property. You can forget the world and immerse yourself in sheer pleasure of doing nothing. The staff is amazing and their little personalised gestures made our stay memorable. The room s are very spacious and well equipped. The swimming pools were well maintained with nice covered cabanas. The pool ends in one of the cleanest virgin white sandy beach of the world. The hotel has arranged nice recliners at the beach under the shade of trees. The hotel provides you services at the pool and the beach. The boats for snorkelling at Pugeon Island are available at the hotel beach. A good WiFi access is available at all places, including the beach recliners. The hotel provides buffet breakfast, but as it was low season we the breakfast was unlimited a-la-carte, very well prepared and with a good spread. We did not try the lunch and dinner as we were busy exploring the local food joints to taste the local delicacy. The only problem is commuting from the hotel to see the local neighborhood; we had a self drive car rental so it helped us in exploring the area. But if it is indulgence you are looking after, why bother, just enjoy the hotel, it's large expanse of green and the beach. Go for full board and enjoy this paradise. We are going again...soon

Lovely hotel. Greeted by the manager on arrival. Fantastic staff who are very friendly and helpful. On Hotels.Com the hotel was promoted as having a gym, beach bar, and a sky lounge (top floor). On arrival we were advised the gym was still under construction. The Sky Lounge and Beach bar were both closed!!! Are you kidding??? A beach hotel with no beach bar? Huge disappointment. The gym was very important to us.. Very bad show Hotels.com. Either hotels.com are slack or the hotel have not properly updated their details. Either way, not good enough from this website or the hotel.

Hotelwas superb from checking to check out. Very friendly capable staff. GM came and introduced himself, had a nice chat and he asked for feedback. Chef also visited our dining table to chat and requested feedback. They are interested and motivated to improve in any way. The grounds, pools, beach areas were maintained verywell. Wait staff helpful& knowledgeable but at times slow. Food & drink selections plentiful& presentation was lovely. The bedding was top of the line and the mattress was THE most comfortable I have ever slept upon. Kudos to the Anilana for a 5 star stay. We will return for sure.

Room was spacious & comfortable. Bathroom however was disappointing. Shower looked as if it hasn't been cleaned for months! Staff were ok. Pool was great & beautiful beach view from there.
